Interesting. The Huskies participated in this event in 2019. Williams, Ododa, and Walker. Sydni Harvey from USF was also on the team. Sabrina Ionescu and Oregon won the event that year. 3x3 is growing. KK Arnold was part of the 4 that won the u18 world cup in 2022. Arnold is a highly accomplished member of team USA. Multiple gold medals. At 3x3 and 5x5.
FIBA has a weird ranking system and KK is ranked 58th in the world in the U-18 3x3 rankings.

Speaking of KK on team USA:

I didn't even notice. Ziebell is on here too. She may have a hard time making this team though. She is 2 years behind some of these players developmental wise. There are college players on this list.

I didn't expect her to make it. I thought she was at a huge disadvantage because she might have been the youngest trying out. But I am really excited for Allie Ziebell. She must have shot the lights out to make this team. And UConn, we definitely have a good one.

I think Allie was only 1 of 2 rising high school seniors to make it. Surprised that Sarah Strong didn't either, among others.
Sorry that KK didn't make it. But only 12 of the 24 could and the competition was fierce. 7 of the 12 spots went to current college freshmen (rising sophomores).

Looking at the team. Kitts and Ziebell are the shooters. Ziebell may have made it because that was an area of the need and it balances the team.
Edwards, Hidalgo, and Rice are all point guards just like KK. So that may have been her issue. The team was absolutely stacked at her position.

There are 4 PGs, Rice, Hidalgo, Jones, and Lepolo.

UCLA with two is a nice advantage for them. Not the same as going as a team to Europe, but still a shot in the arm, and still waiting for Betts to work her way in....

Betts made the other national team, along with players like Angel Reese.

Betts made the other national team, along with players like Angel Reese. Thanks, rukia. Wow. Shows she does have the chops...if Tara would have given her the opportunity. Look out for UCLA. They only need a coach to match the talent....

I think Betts will make Tara look bad this year.
