One of the first things she said was that watching the games (I think last night) helped her decide with whom she wants to play. Maybe I'm reading too much in...

Having 2 parents who are coaches and nit-pic her performances she may want to be as far away as possible. And if she gets homesick I'm sure Geno would nit-pic her game for her.

I watched a couple of interviews, including the above, and, while I'm a committed optimist with Sarah, I had to fight back doubts. I don't want to get into why, since she deserves her privacy and this is no place to try to analyze someone.
Sarah shrewdly chose 2 in-state schools and the one she'd go to if she left the state. That's a smart binary. Just got the vibes that whatever she says about wanting to get away, she'll have her reasons to stay closer. At her position, Duke will get crowded; and I don't think the UNC coach is good enough for her. UConn is the natural fit. But not sure that, in the end, that will be the deciding factor. Obviously, delighted to be proved wrong.

Wow. Those kids looked like they were enduring some type of torture. That looked like it was the last place they wanted to be.

My personal impression watching this last night was that she's not happy about the conflict in her decision. She might " love" Uconn, but shows signs to me that she is under extreme pressure to stay " closer" to home. Growing up and having to make decisions like this is not easy. She is obviously very skilled . I'm not optimistic regarding her decision. On another note, regarding the McDonalds's game. Pretty obvious that the same level and number of " wow" players is not as evident in this years class relative to last year.

Yeah, they looked really miserable, esp. Sarah. I can't imagine she would not come here, if these last three are really her three. Right now with the Tenn job open, people are saying that Kara is in the mix, so there's that too. She's supposed to be smart, and if she is, she'll come to Storrs.

I can't bring myself to watch this. Not sure why. I guess I want to stay blissfully ignorant and not try to read tea leaves. I have a Boston Harbor full of tea leaves I am trying to read at work. Another tea-cup would be way too much.

ESPN was rather fortunate to find them together in a endodontist's office where they were apparently both waiting for a root canal.

Cooper is just a typical adolescent male who is a bit self-conscious and not verbally expressive. Sarah is thoughtful and very, very careful with media. In an earlier world, she might have been happy playing far away from the limelight--which isn't going to happen now, no matter where she chooses. I suspect that UConn is her out-of-state possibility precisely because Geno is no over-the-top recruiter but one who speaks frankly about what she can expect.
In either case, it's actually refreshing to see two young kids who are not leaning into media, but are genuinely shy about it.

I remember Brittany Hunter, number one recruit, wanted to go to UConn, parents “made” her go to Duke, injured, not treated well, Geno took her as transfer and let her play as much as she was able to with her damaged knee. Echoing the interviewer, hope she goes where she wants to.

I. HAVE. ABSOLUTELY. NO. EVIDENCE. FOR. WHAT. I. BELIEVE.
I believe it's really not her parents that would be the reason she stays in-state. I believe she just wants to play ball and avoid the bright lights as much as possible. The lights are really at least as bright in the basketball-insane nexus of Durham-Chapel Hill. But it's "home" and so will feel less of a leap to her. I believe being in a comfort zone--not because of her parents--is likely to be the deciding factor. And I believe that, while Geno is certainly attractive enough to her to make UConn one of her three finalists, in the end Kara will just speak more to her as more low-keyed and assuring.
I. SO. HOPE. I'M. WRONG.

Ironically, Kara Lawson went to Tennessee against her father’s express wishes, he refused to sign her letter of intent and wouldn’t go to her games for 3 1/2 years, but eventually accepted her decision. Then there’s Azzi’s whole family who go to all her games and cheer their hearts out even when she can’t play!

Sarah is coming to UConn. If it were all about staying close to home or in state, why not eliminate UConn already?

Sarah is coming to UConn. If it were all about staying close to home or in state, why not eliminate UConn already? We don't know... or at least I don't know. There's no logic either way: if she was going to UConn, why not eliminate Duke and NC? Because she doesn't want to hurt their feelings yet? Sounds weak to me. Better to tell them early than to string them along to the very end. She didn't know. She needed to feel it. She took the best 2 colleges in the state and the 1 she'd go to out of state, and let that percolate for a couple of months. My sense--it is only that--is that she is leaning toward the conservative choice: staying in-state. Not for her parents or for Carolina friends, but because it seems to her to be the least amount of leap. But no one can read Sarah. South Carolina was convinced she'd commit there; Gary Rebus II left her house declaring that she would commit to LSU. Both were wrong. I'm probably wrong.

Good points on why UConn, why Duke, and a few points on why UNC. If she is still undecided, if she is social media savvy, she would have seen all the fun that the UConn women have been having, how Geno interacts with them and just how much they love each other. And she can see how they have handled the injuries and still made the final four. We will know is short order.

She seems really smart, and so I think she is probably really conflicted and isn't playing games. Azzi was like that too. Apparently she just couldn't make up her mind.
