Oh, Chapette, I was waiting for your post. But I didn't want it to say they didn't take him until 4 PM!
I hope he does spend the night, to make sure he's very okay. We won't even talk about your missing the game. :-)

We got to the hospital at 11:00. They didn't take my husband in to do the ablation until 4:00! Approx. 2-3 hours for the procedure, then another 4 hours of bed rest before release. I think he might be spending the night. In any event, I came home and here I sit waiting for the hospital to call and let me know the procedure is done. Outside chance they will let him come home tonight. Which, if the times hold, would be around half time of the UConn game. I hope they keep him overnight. Is that bad of me to say? nope. Most likely, you'll sleep better if you don't have to go out, and knowing that he's got medical staff keeping an eye on him.

Yes, much less stressful. Say is the game at 9:30 EST or what?

Frankly, I think it would be better for him to stay the night. He'll be monitored and you'll get a decent night's rest (after UCONN wins, of course). At this point I doubt he'd get out before 10 p.m. so what's the sense in sending him out in the cold to go home?
Will just keep thinking positive thoughts and sending hugs and prayers your way.

He will stay the night. My damn cell phone, for the first time ever, wasn't receiving or sending calls. I turned my phone on and off and then saw a voicemail from the doctor. The did ablation for both atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. Doctor said it went well, but really won't be able to know if it has been successful for another month after some scar tissue has built up.
Thanks all for your good thoughts and prayers. He will come home grumpy tomorrow - he didn't want to spend the night. But, doctor's orders!

Hope he gets to watch the game, too!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your husband.
Modern medicine really is a marvel. We are up at Mayo for 2 days follow-up to my wife's liver transplant of 4 years. All going well, so far.

As I may have mentioned previously, when my wife needed treatment for kidney cancer, we worked with Mayo, despite the 7-hr drive from the Albuquerque area. One of the best decisions we've made - the Mayo folks are good, from start to finish.

So happy to hear this, for both your wife and you! We had an amazing experience in the Salt Lake City (burbs) ER My (much younger) ski buddy was short of breath (very) I insisted in an ER visit -We were checked in upon arrival -He was seen by a nurse for vitals in 5 minutes -the doctor walked in before she was finished and stayed 20 minutes -no diagnosis was possible w/o tests...he estimated 3 hours Two hours in, my bud was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs, was admitted, given strong meds and in 24 hours was well enough to come home. The efficiency, expertise and timelines of treatment was remarkable... Intermountain Healthcare is very impressive

I was gobsmacked by the good care, cutting-edge treatment, and great cafeteria ;-). One morning a nurse came in and sat with her for about five minutes, just because. I'd never seen that before.

Today I am officially two years out from my planned retirement date. Unless the company "makes me an offer I can't refuse". Money talks, after all. Seriously, I do intent to retire on March 31, 2025 unless I win Powerball or MegaMillions in the meantime. I could be lured into working three days a week for a period of time (Tues, Wed, Thurs) but two years is a long time and by the time 3/31/25 comes, I may just say goodbye to corporate America and ride off into the sunset.

Congrats. I'm still looking at 6-7 years. But I get 5 weeks (soon to be 6) of vacation. 13 holidays. And I get to work 3 days a week from home. And my boss is in another office. I see him once a month...maybe. I can do this forever. I'd still like to win Megamillions though.

Yup, it's spring. Ignore those freezing temps. We are a major fly-way here in western Montana. News today that in one of our stop over lakes upstate approx. 90,000 geese flew in yesterday for a hamburger and a coke!

Supposed to be in 70's here today. Not there yet. Later next week we're supposed to hit the 80's....in April. Course it'll probably be in the 50's the rest of the month after that.

Yep, bizarre weather. I have a Facebook contact who is in Santa Cruz, CA and she has never seen rain on her property like they have had.
OTH, here in Arizona, temps have been below average. A couple of short warm spells, but over-all, below normal, especially overnight. Just the other night it got down to 34, there was actually a freeze warning, normal low would be somewhere near 50. It looks like things have turned, with highs in the 80's and even reaching 90. But next week is supposed to include a record high of 96 one day and 2 days later an unseasonably cool 60-something high.
We are going on vacation in Kansas, Nebraska and ending at Pike's Peak in late April, ending in early May. Hoping for more predictable weather.

But as someone who lived in Nebraska, and had grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins in Kansas I have to ask, why? LOL. Seriously, Omaha has a fabulous zoo. I know western Nebraska has some beautiful country - Scotts Bluff National Monument and Chimney Rock National Historic Site and their own bit of badlands - though not as grand as those in South Dakota. But between east and west, it is mostly cows, corn, soybeans and pigs. Kansas has wheat fields upon wheat fields. Regardless - enjoy the trip. Once I retire, I may take a "in my own time" drive across country. Leisurely, just see where the road takes me. Become a wanderer.

We're going as far as KC for some barbeque, Truman and Eisenhower (Abilene KS) historic sites. Scotts Bluff. A few other sites. Looking forward on our first trip since the pandemic.
