Is there a list somewhere of where those in Connecticut with COVID-19 have been? It just occurred to me that I may have run into one of them at the AAC tournament. pretty sure that's protected information. The health dept usually contacts people whom the sick person lists as someone who've they been in contact with. At least that's true in Rhode Island. In my area there's a published list of where they've been and when--this drugstore at this date and time, that mall, that supermarket. Nothing by name, but a list of public places, so whoever was at the CVS at 7 PM on March 11 or whatever can know to be more alert about self-monitoring. I thought everyplace had that.

Maybe that's true here in RI, too. I've not seen it yet....

You can, however, go on the Courant website and see a list of where there are reported virus cases in CT. Maybe you know what town they are from? BTW, the Courant took down the paywall on the daily virus stories only.

I'm still alive and kicking. However, my son now is quarantined in their little apt in NYC.... with his girlfriend. Not sure if that is gonna be good or bad? He said he feels fine, no symptoms. A friend of his tested positive. They are both able to work from home, so that's good.

Somebody wake me up when the techno talk abates. Nerds lurk where you least expect ... but you should expect some here on an online community Just kidding ... I am hopelessly out of date; a consequence of the multiple platforms and lack of standardization (redundant huh) being the excuse for me to sit on the sidelines. I have nothing but admiration for the technophiles among us.

I made it home! Amazing; nearly no cars out, but thousands of trucks. In NY thruway attendants were wiping down the card machines and gas pump handles. But in PA the service areas on the turnpike were all closed! Such a contrast

I wear rubber gloves when I get gas. I don't care how ridiculous I look.

I just joined the "work remotely" club. Thankful to still be working! Also thankful I got my hair cut on Wednesday, as CT closed all the hair salons and barber shops on Thursday night. It's a strange new world indeed.

I'm caught between a temporary crown on one of my teeth and a dentist who likely won't (would I even want him to?) put on the permanent next week!

There is a teeny-tiny bite of good news... It's early Its unreported It may be a few day trend that changes radically in the other direction. But with those caveats, I offer the following. You may have heard of Kinsa...a company that makes thermometers and also collects data from all its instruments...now more than a million nationwide. They have a simulation, a chart based on "normal" flu range of temps over a three-month period. Ordinarily, peoples aggregate temps go down as the flu season winds down in the Spring. That didn't happen this season with our fav virus... But...over the last few days...after the spike...the average temp has gone down for the last three days Since an elevated fever is the first symptom of the disease, this may be a positive development That might (could, perhaps) indicate that the measures taken are reducing the spread of the virus. and that would be very good news indeed if borne out over the next few weeks. healthweather.us(I put in my New York City zip...10014 and got the results)

Had to go to the Post Office today. It was like they were giving away stamps.

I haven't been out of the house for two days. I am going to try to go for a long walk tomorrow, weather permitting. Haven't tried to use the "old timers hours" at the grocery store yet. Those crazy grumpy old people scare me...yeah, I am one of them now so I can be crazy and grumpy, but they still scare me. Health wise I am fine. Emotional health? Meh, doing the best I can. Very tired and just want to sleep all the time, but am not sleeping well, which only makes me want to sleep more. Doing Face Time sessions with my son in California and the puppy, Mini. That usually puts a smile on my face, for a little while anyway.

I ought to be walking, since I feel I cannot got to the gym and my treadmill with this darn persistent sniffle. The more I think about the gym I think I should probably stay away. Too many people don't swab down the equipment and I don't particularly want to swab it before I use it and after. This darn thing has us all jumpy.

Too many people don't swab down the equipment and I don't particularly want to swab it before I use it and after. This darn thing has us all jumpy. Gyms have been closed out here for almost a week. Which makes perfect sense. Sweaty bodies spreading germs all over the equipment and some barely even wiping them down, with others not bothering at all. Pretty much everything is closed down out here now. Except "essential" services. Oddly, liquor stores are within the "essential" category. Really? Last I knew alcohol was not one of those essentials to live. Food, water, medicine. Yes. But for a segment of the population with a substance use disorder, who only care about their next drink and not washing their hands or taking care of their health in general, it only encourages those folks to go out and into the general population, spreading god only knows what germs to the door handles, the shelves, the bottles, the cooler doors, the money they pass to the clerk who then passes it on to the next customer in change, the credit card readers, and so on. Yes, I do have a selfish reason for my anger on this decision. A little forced sobriety would not be such a bad thing. Sometimes I just don't understand what drives these decisions, unless it is the tax revenue?

Fear of a second "whiskey rebellion" drives the decision, I imagine. Which doesn't justify it.

Thinking of you Chappy! Maybe take a little walk, keeping your distance. As gyms are closed, I got a mat and weights and a bosu ball so I can do at least a partial workout while shut down. Now have to make myself do it. Somehow it's harder to walk in the room where I put the stuff, than to actually go to the gym. How do you figure?

Yeah, walks outside. Fresh air and sunshine, when you can get it. Staying in can get to you.

Got outside all day today. Cleaning the garage, working in the yard, getting ready for spring. AND of course now it's supposed to snow on Monday-Tuesday. Seriously? Hasn't 2020 sucked enough already?

I'm getting pansies from (I kid you not!) a "curbside" nursery this week. Putting flowers--even pansies!--in window boxes will be a good thing.
Also got a bird feeder (Amazon) and put it in the backyard, which I can see through our TV room. Nice to see life in action.
