The more I see the play the madder I get. Horrible call. Her feet were set and her elbows were in the correct position.

Watching ESPN after the game. Scott Van Pelt brought up the last call against Aaliyah to Andraya Carter saying that the refs should never make that call and what did she think. Andraya replied, and I quote, "I don't know if I can say this on TV but that call sucked!". Then Van Pelt closed the session by repeating that yes, the call sucked. So no, it's not just us fans who think that... I just wonder what this game would have been with Aubrey and Ayanna helping with the guarding. With Jana under the boards. And of course with Azzi helping out at the 3 point line. And all of them absorbing the foul calling so none were in trouble. Have a nice summer all. Next year is going to be awesome!

I'm feeling a bit of delayed anger here. When it was over, I focused on what a great year it was.
But a game of this consequence cannot be decided on such a questionable and marginal call. It's an insult to all basketball.

The call was horrible . Only in wcbb where the officiating is still bush league. Maybe it's good it happened and someone in wcbb will wake up and do something to improve the officiating. However, Paige never took control of the game. KK gave her best , but I personally want Paige running point. Aaliyah sadly was outplayed by Stuelke. That should not have happened. Uconn has a bad habit of being called for screening fouls. Every single game. Nika played great defense and contributed offensively. Glad she went out with good reviews. Ashlynn left the team a couple weeks ago and has been replaced by an imposter. Yes Ice made a couple jumpers and showed real improvement . Ubfortunately she is a 6'3 wanna be guard who likes perimeter jump shots. They played not to lose in second half . Good effort , crappy ending !

I need to recharge but I can't wait, two months till summer practice. What exactly does a fully operational Death Star look like again? I know this, it will have a UCONN WBB decal.

ESPN radio was all over it last night. Tough to hear it reinforced that a chance to win the game was stolen from us, but a bit of glee that national radio was talking so much about women’s basketball.

The more I see the play the madder I get. Horrible call. Her feet were set and her elbows were in the correct position. Her legs are allowed to be no wider than the natural width of her hips . They have been calling this all season long. I hate it and disagree , but it's not the first time. My question is more like " why does Uconn get called on this multiple times per game, every game " ? They would never call this in any men's tourney game with that much time left.

Edwards had more rebounds, steals and assists than Stuelka. We've already discussed the difference in officiating. The comment about Ashlynn is disrespectful, much less to a freshman, asked to do so much. The comment about Ice is, as well.

Ashlynn just dissapeared and it was obvious. She went from scoring 20 pts. a game to nothing. How is that disrespectful ? Facts are facts. KK responded with a good game. It's April. They aint' freshman anymore.Stuelke outplayed Aaliyah . You must have watched a different game. Aaliyah did not live up to AA status in this game.

Next to Paige, Ashlynn was probably the second most tightly guarded player. That shows huge respect to Ashlynn.
Would the negativity be voiced if Aaliyah had not picked up an ill-timed foul? If it had worked out as Geno intended, and Paige or anyone scored the winning shot, there wouldn't be the critique today. But after a loss like this, it is easy pickin's.
If there is anyone among us who has not made mistakes in an important situation, or maybe didn't do the best job during a very important event, and didn't do their job perfectly 100% of the time, speak up now. Yeah, I didn't think so.
This is, no doubt a painful loss. Lots of would have, could have, should have. UConn lost to a really good and balanced Iowa team. The team did the best they could. Why do some feel the need to denigrate the players in the name of truth? No one feels worse about that last foul and how individual players performed than the players themselves. To dump on them, even if there is some truth in it, is just pouring salt on the wounds.
Go Iowa. I hope you beat the snot out of the Gamecocks.

Iowa outrebounded UConn. But Ashlynn had 7 crucial ribbies from the guard position. Also 2 steals. Only one TO. This from a freshman playing in a super high-stakes game on national TV.
But what's the point. As America's greatest intellectual observed: haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.

I keep reading the articles all over the internet. And I keep crying, not for me but for the two seniors who won't get National Championship rings. I've loved Nika since she arrived, tough, stubborn and determined. Watched her grow and change, mature and blossom right before our eyes. I am so proud of her and I will miss her sooo much. Aaliyah, with her mask of invincibility, becoming brilliant while we watched. She's so beautifully athletic on the court, the picture of grace and power. What a joy to behold!
Aaliyah was always expected to be good, but not necessarily the great player she became. So glad she was rewarded with AA status. talk about earning it the hard way.
Many of us wondered "why" when Nika arrived. We had Paige. We had Christyn and Evina. We had no idea how much we would come to rely on the Croation Sensation, The Icon, All-Time Assist Leader.
Aw, shucks, I'm cryin' again. So proud to be a fan. So grateful for this past year watching all of them.
