Amari already has 2 turnovers and 2 fouls in just a couple of minutes. Sigh. amari was pretty bad in that two minute cameo 😓 I am begining to believe she just doesn't have it mentally.

Ducharme has mostly been super ineffective this season. Offense is what she brings. So, if she is struggling in that area.. it is hard to justify keeping her on the court. The good news is that she played 23 minutes. She only just started practicing fulltime. I will ignore her shooting %. I know she is a great shooter/scorer. The key thing is that she is healthy enough to play significant minutes.

No way any team could take this many hits and thrive, except this one. Best player in the country, gone. One of the best freshman in the country, gone. One of the best forwards in the country, out. One of the best sophomores in the country, basically doing in game rehab. Instead of folding, they look at it as a challenge, like a fun challenge. One thing for sure, impossible to give Nika too much to do, you can't. Azzi and Lou just let the game come to them, but not in a laid back way. In a calculated aggressiveness way (Thanks Reggie Jackson). Whatever happened with Aaliyah during the summer of 2021 is gone, she's back. Speaking of back, Aubs looks like she had a transplant, not an operation. Nika and her are absolutely terrifying the other teams guards, like a vice that get's tighter, turn by turn. Ayanna is just like a frisky pup bounding all over the place, but she's got IT. On that one rebound it was like she was wearing an invisible jetpack. As for Amari, it looks like she has regressed. She still has the same spirit on the bench but when she plays it's mistake after mistake. The trying to do too much sort, not the afraid to do anything sort. But, if she can't get more playing time now, when will she? I think this is a pretty ominous sign, besides all the injuries the one thing has gone sideways. Not counting CD getting sick. How far can they go? Not a clue but they are a joy to watch.

Looking at the game again and I have just one word coming out of this game and the early season run: Proud

Her performance gets better and better and is joy. From her side of things I suspect that the wonder of it all hits her every day.

We are really down four, Paige, Ice, Dorka and Caroline. It's amazing that we are doing so well. And three of those were expected starters. The other a key reserve. Can't wait to watch the replay.

We should, however, be careful with being proud. We know what Proverbs 16:18 says that goeth before the fall....

Point taken, but there is a difference in being proud as in reflecting joy for another's accomplishments or actions, and pride, as in self-puffery or unwarranted anticipation of events. Believe most of us are going for the first definition.

Believe most of us are going for the first definition. I was mostly tongue-in-cheek (and more than a little pedantic). And actually, now that I'm curious--and still pedantic--the word translated as "pride" is גָּא֑וֹן, which really seems to mean "arrogance," rather than pride.

Today we will learn alot. Can Aaliyah neutralize Czinano without getting in foul trouble ? Can she continue to expand her offensive game again today? Both teams have a thin bench.
