Ivey has not recruited a single player since she actually became coach. I think she really messed up with her horrible treatment of a couple of players last year.
However, she has a pretty good core right now. If she turns it around and proves that she's a pretty good coach (better than 10-10 with top recruits riding the bench all year), she'll do okay. The problem is that NC and Duke now loom very large, too, and with Jeff making offers to sixth graders, the ACC will be extremely competitive for top recruits.

Pretty sure they wouldn’t even have to enroll.... just come to Syracuse games and play...😂 Yes, but would trying out and being enrolled at ND force them into the Portal? I suspect so, although if they were not athletes for any sport ... maybe not. |

Geno and Muffy could get away with discipline and sitting a supposed star - who may have deserved the treatment. She can't. Doesn't have the credibility yet. May never get it. |

Just some speculation: When McGraw was in her last season and losing games the ND board had several posters claiming that it was Ivey that actually recruited recent players. Now others are saying she isn't able to recruit. The suddenness of the collapse tells me that something happened within the program that led to it and possibly was also a factor in McGraw's retirement.
I also wouldn't be surprised if the Irish return to the top 15 this season.

The Bench is talking about how they wouldn't need walkons if they had not pushed 3 ND players out the door. I vaguely remember something like that. Who has a real memory on this?

So they do have a chance to recover if those players play up to their potential ... and nobody hits the eject button. Lose any one of the three into the portal, and forget it. Katie put the rod across the portal ... or ... er ... something like that |
