She looks like a player Justinesguy will like. OMG. Your too funny. I just saw she committed and I was just going to say she’s my type of player LOL. Bonus points that she can give ONO a much needed breather. Two birds with one stone ha. I could not be more excited today. CHEERS!!

I realize that. Just was wonder.ing what is the truth. Two years of eligibility. right. She's only played two years at the OSU and nowhere else in the U.S., so 2 years seem right. Or did this Covid year even count? Does she theoretically have 3 more years?

I wonder how many times Olivia had the thought in the back of her mind: I can't foul, it'll hurt the team. And as a result didn't bring her A-game. It is good that Liv will have backup. And I'm sure Geno and Chris thought about every aspect of accepting Dorka and its impact on starters. I like the effort to find a silver lining but, no, Olivia didn't hold back last year. Aliya was backing her up. And, even if just a little true, it still doesn't explain missing layups.

I'm wondering what contributions will be made next year by Aubrey and Mir... echoes in the sound of silence.

Alexa's Courant article this afternoon quotes someone who said Dorka "Is someone who can float on the perimeter." Uh, NO! We need someone who can make layups and rebound. We now have a whole squadron of outside shooters, we don't need someone who shoots 20% from 3 land hoisting up shots. Arms length from the basket, thank you very much.

If you look at the videos Rocky posted, she's very aggressive to the hoop. She also averaged nearly 12 ribbies/game. So someone saying "she can float on the perimeter" is only making a subjective appreciation that she's very mobile, which is exactly the team Geno has said he's trying to build.

Scares me too but the most important thing is that she hits layups.

That's an incredibly revealing interview, especially at the end: “I think Aaliyah made incredible progress from day one,” Auriemma said. “She’s really physical, she plays hard every possession, she competes for everything, she did a great job finishing around the basket, she offensive rebounded, which was crucial for us, and she defended. I could see her next year getting the bulk of the touches among all of the post players. I have incredibly high expectations for Aaliyah, and for where she's going in the future. And Liv is going to be a senior. If Liv stays the same, then it’s obviously going to be a difficult senior year for Liv. If Liv adds some things to her game and makes the adjustments she needs to make, she's going to be a big factor and we're going to be fine.” Auriemma toyed with the idea of extending the Huskies’ style of play during the season, going more full court, but decided against it. Westbrook, who announced after the Final Four that she will return for her final season of eligibility, wasn’t 100 percent for much of the season after missing the summer while recovering from knee surgery. Also, Anna Makurat, the sophomore guard who has announced plans to transfer, missed 13 games with a stress fracture in her leg. “ Next year,” Auriemma said. “I won't have that problem. I hope. We're going to have an opportunity to play differently.”

Wow, what a great interview! Was it filmed? I'd love to see this one. Incredible. Love: coaches don't decide playing time, players do. And that he wishes he had 9. And that he's tinkering with changing things up alot. Oh, c'mon season!!!!

Today the Courant says that she is completing her degree in psychology in this spring semester. So she is coming to UConn with an undergrad degree and will be taking a graduate degree. 2 years eligibility includes the "free" NCAA year.

As in blond? Oh yeah! Blonde and can shoot the three! You had to go there, didn't you??? I know you are a fan of BBall, JG, but sometimes you can be a little bit...too concerned with physical appearance, shall we say?

Oh yeah! Blonde and can shoot the three! Please don't change your name to Mariamarinosguy! I certainly will not, however Maria is a really nice person. I messaged her on Twitter at a Conference tournament game right before the pandemic and she came over to spend a few minutes with me and my family( I was sitting front row behind the basket). She honestly could not be nicer. I still touch chat with her every now and then. Top notch person...

Of course I remember you from TOB - it's hard to forget a name like "justinesguy." And yeah, I was "Nanned" too. I can't even remember what name I had there and don't care. I laugh at all of it now.

Before the last 24 hours the only thing I knew about Dorka was from when we played them at the beginning of last season, "OMG they have a player named Dorka." Watching the highlight vids I see that she will at least get some respect from outside. One of the most amazing things I saw this season was the South Carolina game, when ONO had the ball outside the SC defense would literally just put their arms down and stop playing, begging her to shoot, knowing she wouldn't drive the lane. See e.g. 1:35 in this video (one of her 3 made baskets in that game)
So that's something.
