And now Uconn has an alternative to Ono if she has troubles scoring against the best teams. A tandem of Edwards and Jushasz is intreguing.

A graduate transfer with 2 years eligibility remaining. Interesting.

She was listed in the Ohio State roster as a junior this past season. Did she graduate? If so, then she has one year of eligibility left. Otherwise, 2 years.

I knew it. Oh maybe I didn't.... I think it problematic at best that Juhsz would sign with UConn. Whatever the configuration (and add to the current rotation the need to give Amari minutes), she'd get reduced minutes from what she's had before. Of course, she might like the coaching and resume-building of going to uConn. But I imagine there are other top programs desperate for someone of her talent that would give her unlimited minutes. Or a place on the rise, like Duke, which just picked up a terrific guard from TX, might be a great landing spot. uconnterritory.freeforums.net/thread/10796/mediocrity-personified-coach-kevin-mcguff?page=1&scrollTo=111388

Wow, that press release sounded like it was written by a UConn stringer not someone from the OSU. Someone there doesn't like their coach!

Surprising, at least to me. But picking up a decent 6-4 player sure can't hurt. Welcome.

She's not a starstruck 16 year old. She's experienced. She knows who's playing at UConn now and who has committed. She must have access to people who have her best interest at heart for guidance and advice.
So there's gotta be good reason she's wants to be at UConn. Could it simply be Geno, Chris, and that UConn is recognized as championship basketball whether they get the Natty or not?

I wouldn't say that the TENN and ND boards are despairing, but there is a clear "the rich are getting richer" tone to them. I like what our old buddy Dillon 77 over at the Bench writes:
And Juhusz was the focal point of McGruff's offense. So why leave? Well, beyond the "playing for a title," I think she see's and hears how Geno trains his charges to be ready for the WNBA and maybe one year of book camp will do the trick.
Heck, she was one of the focal points of the Ohio State offense. Now, she'll have to work her goulash off to get on the court.

I really didn't see this coming at all. Lose a player, gain a player. Geno is going to have a time of it managing minutes, for sure.

I really didn't see this coming at all. Lose a player, gain a player. Geno is going to have a time of it managing minutes, for sure. A good problem, right? She runs the floor really, really well. And a good rebounder. Geno has been pushing his team to return to a wide open game, and she's going to play an important role. If they run a lot, they will substitute a lot. Certainly not wanting to start the discussion, but I suppose we're all thinking this might put Aubrey down the chart. Crudely drawn up, Liv at the 5 with Amari getting some minutes to ready her for the next year At the 4: Aaliya, Dorka, and Aubrey And so many talented youngsters behind Evina, Christyn, Nika, and Paige. Maybe there needs to be an "A" team and a "B" team, the way the MLB does spring training. The "A" team plays the tough OOC games, and the Big East and NCAA tournaments. The "B" team plays the regular Big East schedule.

I wonder how many times Olivia had the thought in the back of her mind: I can't foul, it'll hurt the team. And as a result didn't bring her A-game. It is good that Liv will have backup. And I'm sure Geno and Chris thought about every aspect of accepting Dorka and its impact on starters.

Merged the two Dorka Juhasz threads. No offense, Rocky. I liked DD's title better.

Wondering if Geno is considering a red-shirt year for any of the rising sophomores or incoming freshman. He hasn't done that for a long time, but he has done it before with Jessica Moore.

Such an interesting question, Chappy, in this age of instant transfer. Who will be willing to sit out a year and delay their professional career or miss a year of college ball/development? Instead, just transfer, I guess.... So, I wonder about what happens to red-shirting.....

Practice with the team, get stronger, bulk up a bit, then be ready to contribute when Liv, Christyn and Evina graduate or complete their eligibility. This would solve some of the minutes issue that will surely face Geno in the 2021-2022 season. I dunno. Just throwing out thoughts.

It was in the Buckeyes article posted in Rocky's contribution towards the top of the thread that she was a grad transfer. It was an OSU article, so I went by what they said.
