A very slick statement. The key part however is the last 4 words. Once you get past S Car there is little consistent play going on and one could say the same about the Gamecocks. And consistency is what is needed to get to the FF. One stinker, if it comes in games 2-4 will send any team home. I point to Baylor in Griner's senior year. And being the best of a mediocre bunch is hardly an endorsement.
Now I realize that teams can improve and get to the FF but they are talking about right now and right now both Miss St and Kentucky look like teams praying to get past the sweet sixteen. Getting beat by LSU & Alabama isn't a letdown, it's a collapse.
Further down the article the ESPN brain trust picks the "best games" of the weekend. I thought "best games" meant the best to watch and yet they all agree as to the winners of all those games. I always thought that doubt about the outcome made a game exciting.
