Probably the best part of this season... so far.

Just to be clear I did take my prescription medicine today. Nika should start at PG, Paige moves to SG, where she will be less reluctant to shoot first. Aubrey deserves to start but at this point she is too valuable coming off the bench. 6th person is an undervalued asset and she fills the roll perfectly. Mir shows signs of following in her footsteps. Hopefully Anna's shooting slump is over, but since she didn't start and still played the most minutes the staff feels she is too valuable in other ways to sit. She may be just feeling the pressure knowing that the team needs her outside shooting so badly. If that's what it is and Paige is able to shoot more 3's maybe Anna can relax. If NOT starting is the only thing that relaxes her they can try that too, it sure worked Saturday. As for the upperclassmen, lead or get out of the way. Won't have to worry next year, there'll be plenty of room on the bench, just pick out a good seat for yourselves.

No one else on this team can do what she does. Evina was a star in this game, and really helped the kids adjust and excel. Christyn also will have to be good if big things are going to come for our team this year. I'm happy with the growth and play of the second unit, too. But, we need the depth. It's not all or nothing. Rather, finding the best blends as needs change. Without the three elder statesmen, we're looking at a team similar to DePaul-level. Get those three to reach their potential, and #12 is a real possibility.

I like the experimentation, the blending, the mix and match. Esp. given that most of the teams in our conference won't be a serious challenge.
