Love to see the Baylor scouting report on Paige. IMO, bump her, crowd her, speed her up, and force her to give up the ball quickly. I believe an area of her game to be developed should be becoming stronger on and protecting the ball. Her ball skills are elite, and that has allowed her to get wherever she wants. And she still can against mediocre teams but I don't think anyone in HS or AAU has played her physically. I believe the better college teams with some depth will not hesitate to do that and it will be a good learning situation for her.

Not going to be Baylor though.

In addition to her killing them from the line, they often couldn't get close enough to hack her. I think the success at the stripe will carry over fine. Whether the university gals will be better able to hang with her ... we'll see. A couple of teams have already assigned a bird dog on her and well ... so far, so good.

Like I said, mediocre teams and coaches are no problem. Plus a lot of things called in HS won't get called and send her to the line in college.

But when a pass bounces out of bounds the passer gets the TO, not the player whose hands couldn't catch. I'd say that half of her TO's were incomplete passes and a couple of travels in one game. I am was looking forward to her matching up against Richards. I watched about 20 games over the last 3 years and she got banged often for a pg and always just shook it off and kept playing. IMO getting physical will only make her play harder.

With Baylor cancelled Geno takes solace in Paige:
Honestly I cannot remember anyone he has extolled this way as a freshman.

It's January and that's usually when Geno stops berating and starts saying nice things about his team. This sounds like Geno a year ago saying that Bueckers will win UConn the title this season. According to the Hopkins coach Geno came 20 times to watch her in Minn., in the winter. That told me a lot. I saw her once and knew she was blessed the way you can tell a scratch golfer after 2 swings and a couple of putts. I wished for UConn to get her 3 years ago. I think UConn fans are in store for magic in the next several years. This virus crap reminds me of the dream in which I know I hit the trifecta but can't find the ticket.

When is the next game, anyway? I wish Jeff and Geno would make something happen.

A point ESPN missed was Bueckers being in a tie for 2nd most rebounds. And she doesn't sit outside and grab long ones, she gets down under the basket. More than once I've seen her box out a much larger player and get the rebound. She can elevate to the rim.
