Great analyses as always DD!! I too feel very good about our chances here against Baylor! I like our chances and I think the UConn bench will contribute more than that of Baylor! Liv is a much improved and stronger player and Aaliyah is not your typical freshman! Christyn has been averaging 17 points and 6 rebounds a game this season; and she's been playing very good defense! During the DePaul Game she guarded Sonya Morris (#11) who's their best player with 18.7 PPG, and she held Sonya to 8 points on 2-14 shooting!! Christyn shot 5-13 herself with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and only was whistled for 3 fouls herself! The other UConn guards also played exceptional defense against DePaul and they limited #10 Lexi Held and # 23 Dee Bekelja to well below their season averages! Held was averaging 15 PPG and she shot 3-8 for 9 points. Bekelja was averaging 16 PPG and she shot 2-8 scoring only 5 points!! So UConn held the top 3 DePaul scorers to 28 points below their 50 PPG average! It wasn't pretty and we missed a few assignments, but overall they played very good defense! I think Baylor is gonna feel it much more difficult to make shots against the UConn defense than they have in any other game this season!! Also; the UConn 3 point team shooting percentage of 33.33% is nearly 3 percentage points better than Baylor's 30.48% and Baylor mostly played cupcake teams! UConn has a Strength of Schedule (SOS) of 82 thus far this season, but Baylor is at 152 with all of their cupcake games!!

Unfortunately we will never know how these teams would have matched up this week. Game cancelled, thanks to Kim's positive COVID test. Maybe we will meet in the tourney...if there is a tourney.

Another great job, !%$#^&*(%^&ing covid. Sorry. No apology needed as I am pretty sure it is what we all think. This virus lurks out there just waiting for people to let their guard down. Even when you do everything right (masks, social distancing, staying locked indoors) the sneaky little microorganism strikes in the smallest of time windows. One tiny moment of touching a door handle or an item in a grocery store touched by a COVID positive person seconds/minutes before or having your mask slip off your nose for the briefest of moments is all it takes for that SOB to find its opportunity to strike. And it is frustrating and frightening.

Notice Kim got it at a Christmas gathering. Right now our spike is due to the T-giving gatherings. The next few weeks are going to be brutal. Be careful, everyone.

Now Xavier. This trend is ominous, I admit I have a knack for the understatement. I can barely remember what "normal" was like.
