I find the heating/cooling debate very interesting. Unfortunately there is a good deal of evidence that points to political tainting of the science. involved.
Alas, nearly every sliver of info available is tainted.
Some of the underlying original research is flawed, but that is a drop in the ocean compared to the obscene bias with which the data is presented to us.
One side ignores the basic facts so much so that any real countervailing ideas are lost in a cacophony of BS and pseudo-science.
The other side has been caught fudging data several times, making wild unsupportable claims (or outright lies), shuts off every debate, and besmirches anyone that questions their central idea that this is a perfect opportunity for THEM to be in control of global wealth distribution.
Alas, neither side is putting much effort into making an actual difference, each preferring to point fingers, assign blame, and repeat their version of the same old rhetoric. Meanwhile, well meaning people are getting most of their "facts" from re-tweets and posts to Facebook that usually are not based upon any science or research at all
.
The poles are warming. The ocean is growing more acidic. Those two things are happening at a very concerning pace.
Renewable energy is growing like crazy, but is barely making a dent against the growth in demand for energy, which continues to rise despite dramatic improvements in efficiency for HVAC, lighting, transportation, heating.
