So, as some folks know, I was a nutmegger born, but, spent much of my formative years in KY and VA. Because of that, I became (in the words of the late, great Molly Ivins) "bi-ignorant". I then moved to and lived in southeast Ct and eastern MA for the past 32 years.
Yet, I've long traveled and vacationed in the Rocky Mountain west, both in the northern Rockies and southern Rockies. Well, as of a month ago, my partner-in-crime and I moved to north-central New Mexico. Of course, with modern communication, the only significant change regarding Husky-watching will be my ability to stay awake for any west coast games or those damnable 9 pm starts that occasionally crop up. Red Sox road trips are now a breeze, and I can watch home games while I prepare dinner, which is great.
If you've never strayed from the northeast, even on vacation, you're short-changing yourself. It's a big and beautiful country. I don't have Rocky's mountain lion yet, but, I've got hummingbirds, roadrunners and pronghorn antelope, and views that literally extend over 50 miles.

Hey, very, very cool Pinot. Wide open spaces ... room to make big mistakes! Just kidding. Congrats on getting out of "crowded country".

Congrats on joining Rocky in God's country - maybe a different state, but definitely a totally different state of mind from the East Coast! Those views go on forever, don't they?

Great to hear from you Pinot, and looking forward to many a great conversation once the season starts, or even before. I moved from CT for work reasons a few years back, but we kept our house in Guilford with hopes to come back home some day. We'll see. Glad to here that you can move away and be happy about it. Me, not so much...

You're on Mountain time now right? So East Coast 9:00 starts will be 7:00 for you. And you're only an hour off West Coast starts now instead of 3 hours. Actually I think it will be easier for you.

Exactly, Meyers, exactly! Because I'm in AZ that doesn't do Daylight Savings Time (always Mountain Standard Time) - I have to say that I prefer the 3 hour time difference that we are much of the year to the 2 hour time difference (which will be all the time for you) that we have from the East Coast during Standard Time. Granted, I don't watch TV live (even sporting events) - but I like getting virtually all the results from across the country before I go to bed (from the various sports we follow). During the WBB season, unfortunately, I sometimes don't get final scores from West Coast games before bed. Of course, as Meyers notes, it is far, far better than being on the East Coast.
