Hot off of ESPN....UConn parts ways with Diaco (their choice). He steps down on 1/2. Here comes another nationwide search. Joe Morehead of Penn State mentioned as front runner. We live in interesting times...

The timing isn't right for Morehead. He has already committed to another season at PSU and if he is going to break that commitment to PSU it will take something bigger than UCONN.
PSU will be returning a veteran team next year and Morehead's stock will soar if PSU makes the playoff next year which is very possible. He will end up at a P5 program.
One all the talking heads profess to be important but ignored with the Pitt and Michigan losses was the injuries PSU had in those first four games. PSU was down to its fourth string walk on middle linebacker and second and third string players at other positions. If healthy they beat Pitt easy and the Michigan game is much closer. Nary a mention of that during the discussions of the playoffs.

Can't believe Randy Edsall is a strong candidate. Fool me once...

I'm not happy. Yes, I liked Diaco and wish it had worked out better. But I'm also very unhappy about RE coming back. I liked him when he was here the first time but I don't trust him not to bolt again the moment he achieves some minor success and decides that he's too good for us (again).

Previous success? He's gotten us to bowl games. Of course, I think the big issue is the conference. It's hard to attract fans in the stands and recruits on the field when you're stuck playing teams like Tulsa and Tulane. Then it doesn't even matter who the coach is. This is why I think that while the B12 wasn't a natural choice for us, going independent in football wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world. We could have scheduled almost anybody and that might have helped in a lot of ways. But what do I know?
