This AM I watched a female reporter discuss who voted for whom. She touched on gays and minorities and when she got to women she said that college educated women voted overwhelmingly for HRC while uneducated women tended to vote for Trump. It was a hoot to watch her attempt at recovering as she realized what she had said. "I think I used the wrong word" was the best she could do. The sad thing is that her slip is probably an accurate reflection of most LW media. What they don't seem to realize is that life is an education.
My wife, one of the uneducated deplorables that voted for Trump (I did not) , almost spewed her morning coffee. I'll paraphrase her response - "How in hell can some 20 something airhead that spent her college years getting brainwashed and drunk be considered more politically aware than me just because she has a college degree."
Incidentally,I got this text from my educated (BA/MA UConn, PhD ASU) on the morning after the election- "Ding dong the bitch is dead" Both my wife and daughter held their noses and voted for Trump as a protest against HRC. If the democratic party wants to understand why they lost the election they have to look no further than Clinton.

So, vote for a guy who is historically dishonest, sexist, racist, xenophobic, cheats on his wives, cheats on his taxes, screws small businessmen, etc., etc., etc., because you don't like Clinton. Basically, screw the country, perhaps permanently, because the other major party candidate rubs you the wrong way. Oh, that's smart.

Well, they both rubbed me the wrong way. They both had a LOT of baggage, to put it mildly. The result is what it is. We all have to live with it. So, I think it's time to move forward with hopes for the best and maybe we'll be right. And if not you can say "I knew it." Now how about we all take a deep breath and try to calm down.

Ok. Calm down. Good advice.
Except for the reports beginning Wednesday of minorities being told to go to the back of the bus, muslims being bullied, even in middle schools, and Trump, with twitter restored, saying that the protesters are paid instigators. That latter one is straight out of Stalin's handbook, and doesn't really jibe with 'I want to be everyone's president'.
The best predictor of behavior in the future is behavior in the past. What on this green (for now) earth would suggest that the man who will determine the fate of this country is more than a race-baiting, misogynistic narcissist? We have 70 years of data on the donald. What did I miss? I seriously would love to have some hope, but, being an observant individual with critical thinking skills, I don't see it.
And before you think this is knee jerk, I never wanted HC, not in 2008, not in 2016, and I believe the Dems forgot the 99%, but implying that Trump is the better of two evils...

52% of white women voted for Trump. Apparently none of them made it past the 8th grade. My OP was a comment on the media elitists not on the candidates.

I'd like to see some people come to the for over the next few years from both parties or a new party or no party at all who genuinely ant to honestly serve all of the USA. The Republican party put up a bunch of careworn hacks and the Democrats had any possible choice stolen from them.

The Republican party put up a bunch of careworn hacks and the Democrats had any possible choice stolen from them. Great post! Absolutely. I truly understood all the angst, and I had to hold my nose when I voted for Hilary. Which I did because the Dem's are closer to the general direction I lean than the Republicans. But I would welcome some real candidates, with real ideas that they explained, that I could support because I believe in them. Or, am I asking too much? PS - I think Bernie was "real", but even some of his ideas that I could get behind, I thought were too impractical to, as you say above, "serve all the USA".

I couldn't hold my nose (or my breath) long enough to vote for either major party candidate. But I did see two guys in line wearing clothes pins on their noses. I was sooooo disappointed that those two were the best that they had to offer. I voted for Gary Johnson pretty much in the dark. At least he didn't disgust me like HRC or scare me like the Donald.
And now back to a more important discussion - food!
I made chicken cacciatore tonight with penne pasta. My wife made a rosemary garlic foccacia to go with it.Served with a good red wine it's comfort food to the max. It's usually one of our "snowed in ass deep" meals but the way the weather is going that may not happen soon.

Well Clinton is also dishonest, anti-sematic, screws small businesses, runs a corrupt foundation, etc. etc. etc. They are both narcissistic @ssholes. Neither one of them deserved a vote. But many people did the unthinkable and voted for them anyway. Either way we were screwed. But it's over and done and now we have to live with our choice. We did this to ourselves, just like Obama, we get what we deserve.

BY "live with it" I meant that Trump is going to be President. We don't have to live happily with that, but we can accept that it's going to happen and try to effect the changes we would like to see, not the changes he may try to make. There will be more elections. What the results are will be up to the people who vote.

Not sure if he can give her a pardon if she isn't actually charged with anything. And if he can pardon her without charges then that would be an admission of guilt, kind of. Don't know if he (or she) would want that.

Unless something really egregious surfaces re HRC the best political move would be to let her just fade away.
