Some folks here know my favorite show of all time is NYPD Blue and it has been running commercial free 4 to 5 nights a week commercial free. Well the dreadful final episode came two weeks ago more or less. Couple days later I discovered they rewound to episode 1! Course I discovered this in I stumbled into these reruns in season 3 - happy days, I have new old stuff to watch! For those who knew/know the show the "star" was not Sipowitz in those days but David Caruso and he got all full of himself and made ridiculous demands AND they kicked his arse off the show and he did not find other work for a lot of years. He was running/owning a men's clothing store in Palm Beach I believe, when someone plucked him from obscurity and made him the lead character in CSI Miami where he did his best to act like Steve McGarrett of "Book 'um, Danno" fame.
A little morality play built in to Hollywood.
I think of players like Kelsey Bone and Diamond DeShields ...

You take a while to get to your point, but when you do, it is a GOOD one.....agree wholeheartedly about NYPD Blue, BTW.

And also, very OT....you made me think about some of my old favorite(in Chicago, of course) shows....Hill Street Blues and Chicago Hope.
In the first, Dennis Franz perfected the type of character that became Sipowicz in NYPD blue. In the second, well there were more actors than you can chake a stick at...including Mark Harmon, who acted much like he does on NCIS now.

When Mandy Potamkin started singing on Chicago Hope that was it for me! Hill Street, right on. I 'd love that in syndication.

But there were some great story lines.
At least it didn't end like St. Elsewhere, in a snow globe, or the Dallas season where Pam woke up to find Bobby in the shower and the whole season was just a bad dream...Yowser, I am feeling a little crochety right now.
Someone on here, perhaps Chapette or Cat, found Hill Street Blues in syndication somewhere....I'll have to go review some pretty old posts and see if I can find out which channel or web site that was.
Be careful out there!

I don't hunt, but this time of year I do wear orange when the dog takes me out for a walk! But thanks for the advisory. If you could find that info... fabulous!
