Anybody watch the opening ceremonies? Considering they had a very limited budget I thought they did a decent job. Not the flashiest, and a little plodding, but at least it was something more than just the parade of athletes.
First gold medal goes to the USA for Women's 10m air rifle. A 19 year old WVU student. USA! USA! USA!

Also forgot to mention I caught a glimpse of Stewie, and the camera stayed on DT for a while along with her name and notation 3 time gold medal winner.

It was a bit or more than a bit drawn out but I hope future olympics (if any) will keep dialing down the over the top animatronics/ light shows, armies of volunteers marching hither thither and yon....

Watching the first day of track and field. I have to say, I like the gray/light blue track surface. The runners really stand out and don't get so lost in the red track surface on tv.

NBC has been highly criticized for its coverage. To me they haven't been slammed enough. Last night's gymnastics coverage - forget the 8-10 hour delay - 4 minutes of commercial - one gymnast's vaults - another four minutes of commercials! Their on air talent is not the greatest. Dan Patrick in a suit and tie, really? I'm looking at the aging of America with this crew. Disappointing how flat they can make great athletic performances.

I've been watching WBB on the NBC basketball channel. No Commercials except at the top of the hour. Pretty sweet!

Because of the fraud the Rio games has perpetuated on the athletes and the people. There is no excuse except making a buck for the health conditions and what people have been exposed to.
