Strange year getting weirder. Two days ago a dad and a kid decided to take a stroll off a boardwalk in a "hot zone": net result kid has burns serious enough to get medevacted and dad does a John Wayne and declines treatment on his burns from pulling the kid out of scald zone. Yesterday a dumb 25+ guy decides he's tough enough to get close to a male buffalo ... he loses, quickly. Same day, a guy wanders of the boardwalk in another hot zone and is spotted falling into a 198+ degree on a good or bad day depending on your perspective direct connection to the earth's core - pheew - and disappears. Poof. Gone.
Now news heads are talking about limited guided tours in the first and greatest Nat'l Park in the world!!! Gimme a break . We have to allow some survival of the fittest... as in anybody but the most stupid ... kind of thing to keep nudging the gene pool now and then.

Yeah, to quote Tom Lehrer, I think, "I see the outpatients are here, in force..". As I noted previously, I witnessed just this sort of behavior in the park in September 2014. In that case, the offenders were Pacific Rim tourists that I did not hear speaking English, which raises the question of, can they even read the signs warning against such behavior? And, if they can't, why aren't they being chaperoned by somebody who can? All in search of a better, cooler picture to post on social media, I thought at the time.
But, sometimes, it comes down to this:

Two young men from abroad caught walking in hot zone yesterday, spoke accented English and aknowledged the signs "but didn't think they were serious", "not that big a deal". They were fined but clearly were enjoying their 15 seconds on news camera.

Sounds to me like we need to send more people to Yellowstone, then out the herd some.
