Just listened to Jeffrey Kessler following Geno on Mike and Mike (ESPNRadio) talking about the lawsuit by the soccer players for equal pay. His basis is that it is clear-cut different pay for same work. This one could be fascinating. Is it the same work? They play the same game, but against a different competition pool. The economics are that the amount the best soccer players get paid in other leagues is substantially different for the two genders (not that this is fair, but a current reality). I want these four (and all) women to be treated fairly and well, but if they win ... will the WNBA have to pay similar salaries to the NBA? I don't see the NBA being willing to do that, nor do I see anyone else jumping in to pay those wages to keep that league running if it is going to hemorrhage $$ at least for a while. Might this be a case of be careful what you wish for?
I think I heard recently that the BB WNT players do not get paid.

Geno said all the players and coaches are volunteers for Team USA basketball.
For soccer they are employees, so it's going to be different
