Sounds like the bus driver (human) was being a typical @ss and not letting others merge. Always gonna be accidents with all the @sses we have driving out there.

Like with human 16 year-old drivers, the technical capabilities will mature and the accident prevention will be better. I'd rather certain people leaving the pub at closing time get home this way, but I'm certainly not eager to have it be universal. Even if they could prevent ALL accidents (highly doubtful), there are still many issues to resolve. Here a few fun ones off the cuff: - Will we be willing to cede complete control over speed to the DMV? - Will the "GPS route" be enforced? What if you just want to see the scenery? - Maybe we can stop carrying auto coverage? - Will the car be allowed to refuse to leave home because there is congestion on 84 in Hartford? - Weight and passenger limits enforced by Govt edict? - Automakers will want to program it to go directly to the dealership if there is an alert - so you miss a game (or a meeting, or the birth of a child) because the gas cap wasn't on tightly enough? - Will they get good at missing other vehicles but run over pedestrians and pets with abandon?
