see what I did? More from Dan Connolly's mailbag. Don't know if it's paywalled, but I'm giving most of the answer to: explain UConn's uniforms. Bulkey asks: am I the only one who loves the gray uniforms? probably.... UConn currently has about five different uniforms in its proverbial closet: The standard white homes and navy aways, the 2000’s era white throwbacks, the black set, and the grays. There’s also the Play4Kay pink jerseys, but those are only used once a season.
I like that the team has essentially turned the throwback into its main uniform. Those are the best in the program’s history and still look great. I just don’t want the standard whites to get pushed out — those are also good.
The away uniform is fine. No change necessary there.
As for the alternates, I’ve never been a fan of UConn wearing gray. The good news is it stopped wearing gray at every XL Center game a few seasons ago and didn’t even pull them out once this past year. Good riddance.
Meanwhile, I love the concept of a uniform set aside for big games even though I’ve never liked the black look itself.

I'm the last person to ask for aesthetics, though. Maybe a different Gray color would work better.

Hate that gray, give it away! Not keen on the all black either - a concession to Nike is the only reason for it's existence.

As long as they don't bring back the Cursed Silver, I'm OK.

I'm not a black uniform fan in general, but it seems especially odd for you guys. At least when we were at Rutgers, it was one of their secondary colors (scarlet, white, black).
I'm also not a gray uniform fan, Arizona has one in the mix.
My wife and I are convinced that pink uniforms are bad luck, at least when our teams where them.

The silver uniforms? Never again. They should have been burned and the ashes spread as far away from UConn as possible. Not only were they ugly, the game they were worn in was an ugly loss that never should have happened. Not ugly in the sense of a large deficit, but ugly in the sense that no defense was played on the Duke player (whose name escapes me) which resulted in the winning shot in the last seconds.

so different folks think no gray, black, silver, or pink?
With Nika graduated, this might be this summer's argument. :-)

I like a black "bad boy" image on the road. Maybe I watched too many old westerns when I was a kid.

No silver, no gray. Pink for Kay only.
Road national flag blue with red piping, home throwback whites.
That's my choice, and I'm sticking to it!
