Dan Connolly today answered questions and this was one of them (paywall, free? I dunno)
Of the injured players, who will not be ready to play when the season begins? — Rose H. As of now, which of the five injured players are projected to be ready to play come the '24-'25 opener? — Drew D.
Geno Auriemma hasn’t formally spoken with the media since the end of the season, so there aren’t any official updates. That’ll change when the school hosts its annual Coaches Road Show events on June 4-5.
Still, there’s plenty of info to go off from the tail end of the campaign.
Jana El Alfy warmed up with the team during the postseason and will be 16 months out from her achilles injury when the 2024-25 campaign begins. All signs point to her being ready to go for it.
Azzi Fudd also appears to have a good chance to be ready in November. She put some shots up during a few NCAA Tournament practices and will be around the 11 month mark by the start of the year. Unless Fudd has a setback, it’d be a surprise if she missed any substantial time.
Meanwhile, Aubrey Griffin told me in March that she’ll be re-evaluated at the nine-month mark in September. Until then, the focus is on recovery and strength building, so there’s no timetable for return.
As for Caroline Ducharme and Ayanna Patterson, it’s best not to speculate when we don’t know anything.

Concussions just take time and Caroline has had plenty and even more until September. I am hopeful she will be ready for the start of practice. Patterson is the big unknown. I do know I would just love to see her playing at 100%. Her physical ability is unmatched on the team.

Nothing new here. Starts at 5:00 and frames it by Dan's report. He gets a bit weird on the timing of Azzi's injury, but he admits it.
