You are the second poster that feels the need t bring Bueckers into the conversation when others say Clark can’t be the GOAT without winning a championship. Why? I haven’t seen anyone suggest they she is the GOAT.

I haven’t seen anyone suggest they she is the GOAT. There is no such thing as “the goat” nowadays. It’s become “a goat” meaning multiple people with the title. I bring up PB because she’ll need to win a title to be considered to be a UConn GOAT.

Each to their own. To me, Paige is now and forever a GOAT. She may be the most remarkable ball player I've very seen, so she is probably the GOAT.

There's quite a few GOATS in my view. When you are looking at a run of incredible players, it's going to be pretty subjective. I don't see what the purpose of the debate is, if there is one...and time will tell what will happen in the future. Does it include the WNBA, well, I would say yes. But some wouldn't...
OK I gotta get some work done.

so many GOATS….so little importance. At least we can credit CC for generating the discussion - as meaningless as it may be. Before she broke all those records, no one even talked about the GOAT.

No, no one ever, ever, ever had that discussion before.

I tend to agree. However, Paige missed a lot of time with injuries so she might still be in the conversation if they win it all next year. But they need to be dominant. They need to go undefeated and blow out whoever we see in the final four. They need a run like the men had this year and she will be in the discussion. Still, I think Stewie is firmly entrenched in the GOAT conversation. Taurasi is a very close second. Maya is third. Paige could enter the 3-5 range with a crazy season.

Paige was the BEST freshman WCBB I've ever seen coming out of HS, EVER ! Since, there were two seasons of injury. The rest of her story is still unwritten. There is still noone in the wcbb game I'd rather watch .

But, after those 5 people this is the first time it’s a national debate on every sports talking head show and social media. Do you think the women NC had more viewers than the men because everyone wanted to see Cardosa play? Half the audience couldn’t name a player on either team except one……The GOAT!!

The sport was making slow and steady progress as more great athletes spread across the country to create some parity. The “GAOAT” put it in another gear. All fans should appreciate that.

Each to their own. To me, Paige is now and forever a GOAT. She may be the most remarkable ball player I've very seen, so she is probably the GOAT. "Greatest" is a totally subjective term. Plucking rules from the ether is one way. Who exactly made the "win a title" rule? I understand the "title requirement" in individual sports and in identifying greatest TEAMS but basketball is all about the integrated play of five players in a comparatively small space. College titles are also won in single-elimination tournaments so the winner isn't even necessarily the best team. There is a reason the pro leagues have "best of" rounds in their playoffs. Bueckers is my favorite player of all time for many subjective reasons. I've seen a lot of spectacular play from a lot of players, including Bueckers. She just does it with more style, consistency and genius. Others can choose whomever they want.

Paige is brilliant, for sure, at seeing the floor. And as Geno recently said, of all the "stars" he has coached, she is just different. I think in this case he was talking about personality. I have long thought that her greatness will emerge very powerfully one day as a coach. She seems to really love to talk the game and to use her particular genius to study it. Time will tell, and it will be great to watch. My favorite player to watch back in the day was Maya.
