but this team will always and forever be one of my favorite UConn teams, maybe THE favorite. They may not be tournament champions, but they are champions in my heart.
The good news is the injured will be back next year. We have great recruits coming in. Geno got a contract extension. I like the way 2024-2025 looks. It is time that we get a break from the injury demons and have a healthy team next season - ALL next season.

To come within one possession of playing for the national championship with such a depleted roster with three of your six players being freshmen is a magnificent and memorable accomplishment. None of the six players played a perfect game tonight, but they all competed like, um, Huskies, until the very end. Kudos to all.

Echo the above. Looking to the future, God willing Bueckers can have another injury-free season. Brady is coming along. This years freshmen were great and now Geno knows what he has there. Of course you never know but next years freshmen (Cheli, Ziebell) have great potential. If El Alfy is as good as is said, should be right back in the thick of things next year.

May the basketball gods lift the injury curse and put UConn where it belongs next season ... on top.

One more thought. Though I hate the BS ending I find myself relieved this season is over. From beginning to end this season has been a nerve wracking journey. Fingers crossed throughout that another of our soldiers would not go down and the 3rd quarter sag would not be our undoing. Next season may we catch the breaks the team has more than earned.

Huskies played their guts out, no reason to feel bad. "It was a miracle they got this far." Isn't it amazing how often miracles happen to teams with high character, unrelenting work ethic, unbreakable spirit and a genuine love for each other? That was no miracle they earned it and they deserved it. A lot of folks, me included, who have followed the program since the 95 season and before, will say that this is their all time favorite team.

This team didn't win it all, but they sure won our hearts. Guts galore! Class beyond measure.
How fortunate are we to have them to cheer!

I have a pick me up therapy. Root for the boys to pull off a repeat. It seems very few want them to pull it off, however elegant their syle of play is.
