all of the theatrics over this? Basically all it says is that she is an a-hole. Will be interesting to see if she ever follows through with her threats

I wonder if there was originally something more inflammatory in the article that was deleted before publishing because of her threats. Or maybe she over reacted. If Kim the A-hole is all that it's about, everyone already knows that. She's still a good coach and I enjoy her antics.
I remember the early years when Auriemma was an absolute A-hole. He was still a great coach and I enjoyed his antics.

One thing made clear in the article, she has an astonishing ability to hold a grudge. And, I'm an Irish-Catholic Yankee, so, I'm well-versed in the art of grudging.

Just read it, hardly a hit piece. They really are all the same. Thin skinned, self righteous and bitter. About something. And never, never, ever, wrong.

Kim dresses all fancy but she really doesn't like to have the mirror held up to show what lies under the glitz. It is ugliness that goes all the way to the bone.
The article could have been so much harsher. She may be a great coach, but she sucks as a person.

When I first read about this Mulkey, mentioned an article written by Babb about Brian Kelly that she labeled a hit piece. The article criticized Kelley's pay without naming him. It criticized his contract numbers compared to the local living standards in Baton Rouge. Hardly a hit piece. Here's a quote from the Babb article "There's a fire rising in women's college basketball. And while America has been soaking in this storybook moment, Kim Mulkey *is* the fire -- burning for 40 years, laying waste to everything (and everyone) in her path." More than a little hyperbole there? Another criticism "she holds grudges" What a revelation that is. So do we all. I'm sure that would include a bunch of other coaches. Including VanDerVeer, just ask Lobo. Pat Summitt, just ask Geno, and Geno, just ask Parker. I'm sure there are a many, many more.
If Mulkey had kept her mouth shut, (fat chance of that happening) this story would be a fart in a high wind. Just a minor irritation and then it would quickly dissipate. Now it's all over the place and it will linger way longer than it deserves.

Well, it's pure Kim and she'll probably like it is my bet. So sad about her father. Amazing. She's making millions and he's holed up in a rusty trailing. My God.

The article could have been so much harsher. She may be a great coach, but she sucks as a person. Which is one ginormous difference between her & Geno. Geno’s an incredible human being (despite the grumblings of the Evil Empire) and truly cares for his players. Oh, and he still managed to win …

"a fart in high wind" is the perfect description of Kim Mulkey. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes.

Decent profile piece. About what I expected, really, I think most feel folks who have commented across multiple message boards feel about the same.

Does anyone really give a damn ? no one would have if she hadn’t drawn attention to it. Or maybe she likes the attention.

Boo friggin' hoo. It doesn't mean she has to be an as$hole. No, but I think she’s just grabbing onto it as an excuse. If Pat were still around and still of sound mind, I wonder what she’d think of her ol’ buddy now …

That's rather what makes me shake my head; sure, cheating on your spouse and marrying a much younger person in a lousy thing to do, but it is also one of the most "ordinary" bad things that happens to families. It's certainly worthy of some hard feelings, but almost 40 years of refusing to speak is a bit much.

None of us know what went on or how it impacted Mulkey. My opinion is that this guy crossed a line whhen he brought her family into his story. If nothing else, that made it a hit piece.

Article clearly states that both daughters were in college when it happened. And Kim wrote about it in her memoir, so I'm not sure how it can be a hit piece when she's already made money off the story.
