Thanks, chicagogg! Pinning this
8 great games, and I'm likely to miss them all except the least interesting: TX v. Gonzaga (but for a good cause: visiting our kids in New Haven)

Despite the countless (and accurate) claims of parity in the women's game, the final sixteen doesn't really reflect it. The east coast bracket matches the seeding exactly and the west coast bracket sports only one team seeded lower than fifth.
That said, there *were* quite a few nail-biters in the round of 32, with several higher seeds fighting for their lives to stay in the tournament.
South Carolina remains the favorite in the East, but Notre Dame looked awfully good, and Texas is one of the few teams who can rebound with the Gamecocks. I think UConn's bracket is wide open, and the Huskies, on paper, have the most favorable match-up in the round of 16. And their opponent, Duke, will have an even longer flight to the west coast.
It should be a fun weekend.

So Duke is the lowest seed in the S16. We got 4 no. 1s; 3 no. 2s; 4 no. 3; 2 no. 4s; 2 no. 5s. and 1 no. 7. Pretty chalky. But it's true that there were many nail biters, including our game.
