I like Geno's answer about the Jackson State game: "This is complicated; this is complicated." I (bulkey) can see this as an easy win or as a really difficult slog....
Geno on the portal and NIL: so complicated that "coaches have had it with this profession." It's killed the high school recruiting because why bother recruiting them there. The mid-majors have become junior colleges because their talent leaves. No one has this figured out.
Unintended consequences are that 500 in the portal in the first couple of days. How many more after the tournament? When the musical chairs stop, how many kids have no chair to sit on?
20 years ago, Geno would have had definite answers. Now, he's wise enough to know that a lot of things don't have answers....

I agree with the harm it's doing to mid-major programs. I'll wait a year though because the COVID era comes to a close this year and we will get a better idea of how many undergrads are moving.

When the musical chairs stop, how many kids have no chair to sit on? Exactly your quote from last year and probably the same percentage of players are sitting on the floor. It's crazy for sure.
