If you haven't subscribed to this newsletter it's worthwhile.
This issue has a stat for every one of the 68 teams. Here is the stat for UConn:
My take – it's more complicated than simply the return of Paige, but it's a welcome move in the right direction while not as good as I'd like to see.

Last season was an aberration cause by excessive injuries to guards. Geno ran a 3-guard offense with one guard. Senechal was a great wing but she did not have guard ball skills. Too many players were asked to do "guard things". Muhl, Fudd and Bettencourt were the only players to have a/to ratios over 1.0.
There should be a stat for turnovers per pass.

And a separate stat for turnovers per dumb a$$ pass.

Having 3 starters who are true point guards should result in fewer turnovers, right?

This same article also includes this absolutely flabbergasting stat: " Maryland: Maryland has played the toughest schedule in the country this season based on their opponents’ average HHS Rating." This is a line I never thought I would read. Brenda is challenging her team.... Next you will tell me that Kim has scheduled only OOC teams ranked better than 250!
