Terrible news. A solid player.

Hmmm, another case of announcing after the bracket reveal? Coincidence? I think not.
Feel bad for Watson. Tough blow to the kid and her team. Teams with late season injuries to key players may not have the time to adjust mentally and game planning.
I don’t like notre dame, but would never wish an injury on any player.

And Irish still got a 2 seed ? The negative bias against Uconn and positive for others is sooo evident. We have always gone to regionals unless just plain on the other coast. The smirks on the faces of Rebecca's coworkers said it all when she mentions Uconn. I started laughing when CP suggested that everyone in the Albany region should be thrilled just to watch CC, the new savior of wcbb. We'll think long and hard before buying NCAA tickets ever again.

It's been done before. That tweet was releasted at 8:10, after the brackets were announced. Hard to believe they didn't know before.

Of course they did. We might have been a 2 seed if they had announced before, and they a 3.

Talk about a small lineup.
Starters will be Hidalgo 5'6", DeWolfe 5'11", Citron 6'1", Westbeld 6'3", Marshall 6'5"
That may look ok, but Marshall averaged only 19 MPG and contributes the occasional blocked shot. Only 5 PPG and 3.5 RPG.
Still talented they have zero margin for error.

If Aaliyah couldn't come back (there was no doubt about that, just saying an if) there would have been literally zero margin for error.

Yes, that is what I said, just with an "if" qualifier. I suppose I should have bolded the "If". The "if" is not in play, because she IS back.

Okay, I see where you have the quibble. I have updated my post to provide more clarity. "Same could have been said for UConn, but getting Aaliyah back is a major plus for UConn. No doubt that is Aaliyah couldn’t come back there would Be zero margin. Like they had in the last 2 1/2 games in the BE tournament.

but even if Aaliyah couldn't come back, does anyone here think Geno would have withheld that information? I just don't think so. I think we would have known right away.
there is a level of gamesmanship that some schools play that defies morals/values and makes a joke of the same. I am appalled that a school supposedly based on christian beliefs/values sinks so low, not just once but 2 years in a row. I'm talkin' 'bout ND. The school named for "the Blessed Mother." Guess they're not living up to it, are they?

This is the 2nd year in a row that Ivey did it. She'll keep doing it until someone has enough courage to call her out on it.

Geno announced that Amari was out before the seedings.

Watson is a major contributor for the Irish. DeBerry no so much

Sports is a reflection of the society it exists in. Lying, cheating and stealing to win are acceptable and in many cases celebrated. Just as long as you don't get caught. Victory cancels wrongdoing. And it's been that way for a very long time.

It could be interpreted that the Irish's bracket spot was the committee's response to the silence from S Bend over their injuries.
