Tonight's episode was hosted (and produced) by Geno Auriemma. Most of the show centered around Geno giving a wine tasting lesson in his Manchester restaurant, Aura. In addition to the wine there were a few clips of some of the fine dining entrees, mostly steaks. Wines tasted were mostly Italian (duh) including some Taurasi wine appellation reds which Geno said was the wine that he grew up with.
When Taurasi was playing for UConn I "discovered" Taurasi wines. I still buy an occasional bottle.

I think that it was a 15 minute or so preview on WFSB. I can find reference to it but not the actual episode. An article in the Courant said that this might be a new side gig for Geno.

I took a peek at Aura's wine list. On the low end was a $105 red from Italy. On the other end of the price spectrum was an Opus One for $475. There was also a magnum red from Napa for $875. Bottle prices probably average in the mid $200 range. I think that all of the wines are wine snob rated in the 90's. I thought the dinner menu was very reasonably priced with entrees in the low to mid $30 range. This may be Geno's best entry in the restaurant business. www.cafeaura.com/menu/dinner/
