I don't see much more than incremental improvement options. I'm hoping Caroline comes back but don't expect it. I'm hoping Ayanna can rebound and defend and I do expect some improvement from what we have now. I expect Ashlynn, KK and Qadence all improve some. I'm not seeing a FF finish as probable. Iowa got to the final with Caitlin Clark as super woman. I'm willing to roll the dice with Paige.

I always talk about this game. @ Maryland last year. We lost. But I felt great about the team afterwards. We competed. We played hard even though we were undermanned. If we are going to lose games this season. I want us to perform like that. We fought hard on the glass against Kansas. I liked that. I want the same against Texas.

Geno specifically cited Paige, Azzi, Aaliyah and Nika were the core players. Not Caroline. Not Aubrey. I would definitely agree with him on that. (I'd add CFD IF she was healthy and playing like CFD) I've said quite a few times (especially arguing with the old Griffin fan), if Griffin becomes one of our main scoring threats, we're in trouble. And well, here we are.

I think Aubrey clearly warrants being in the core. Our best defensive player according to the metrics. She scored over 10 points a game last year efficiently. Good rebounder. No one tries harder. It's an insult that she wasn't included. Yet another unwarranted ommision.

Griffin averaged 11.3 PPG last season. Probably higher than most of you would expect, right? And that was with three all star caliber players on the court with her (Dorka, Lou, and Aaliyah.) I don’t believe Nika is capable of averaging that many. They both have issues with just being too passive offensively; that’s why you don’t want them to have to score a lot. But yes. I do think Aubrey is more offensively minded than Nika.
