With no fear of failure, freshman KK Arnold brings serious energy to UConn women.KK Arnold wants to make sure you read her correctly. If you see her laughing on the court, don’t take it as a sign she’s not serious about winning. “I’ll just be smiling, which is my way of shaking off a bad play,” she said. “Of course it bothers me, but I don’t let that affect my next play. We’re all going to make mistakes, especially as a freshman, I’m going to make some mistakes this year, but I can’t let that affect the next play that may make our team lose or win the game.” Arnold, a freshman who is expected to play an important role for the UConn women’s basketball team with its championship aspirations, brings a freshman’s goofiness to the equation, but also adds a dimension, coach Geno Auriemma said, the Huskies haven’t had recently.

Everyone liked you there Carnac. You were well regarded. Glad to have you with us. Both are just sports forums. The moderation here is more patient. I think the other considers itself an official arm of the school and they are very strict on anything negative. There is a case for that for sure but I like it better here also.

Great Courant article on KK. It seems that the KK train is leaving the station!
"“We haven’t had that kind of quickness and that kind of electricity in our backcourt,” Auriemma said, “Like, Nika (Muhl) has it, but KK is different. I don’t know what it is, but when the two of them are in there together, it’s double. She speeds things up, offensively and defensively. If you can believe this, she is more aggressive than Nika, which is hard to do.”
They make a point on Aubrey, Nika and KK being shutdown defenders. I think KK will give the subs another offensive option as well.

Thanks for the flowers. I appriciate it. I joined Area 51 right after you left. I began posting on January 9 of 2015. I enjoyed the run, but all good things must come to an end. There are some posters there I'm really going to miss interacting with. I still go there several times a day to see if there's any breaking news. If I see a breaking news story, I'll post it here immediately. Folks on this board want to know what's going on also. I don't believe in demeaning or pointing fingers at our girls or the staff. I'm a fan, not a troll. I'm a BIG fan of Amari. I've been sitting on the front row of her cheering section from day one with pom poms and a bullhorn. I hope this is the year she blossoms. I think I'm going to be a HUGE fan of KK Arnold also. How can you not like her? I normally don't expect much from freshmen, that way I'm not disapointed when they fail to measure up to our/my expectations that first year. Geno says it usually takes freshmen a full year to learn the system to be able to function in it (on both end of the court), and be a productive player in the mix. But...........I think KK is special, and will reach or perhaps exeed our expectaions. I see her as the starting pg next year. Geno sure thinks a lot of her. He smiles whenever she's around. THAT should tell you right there how special she is. She's ALWAYS dancing and smiling. She UConn's version of (my man) Gene Gene the dancing machine from the Gong Show with Chuck Barris. There's a lot of things that transpire behind the scenes and in the locker room that we will never know about. I hope I can be a voice of reason here. I try to be fair and objective. I like to post articles about WCBB teams in general and UConn WBB in particular that I feel should be of interst to the general membership/viewers here. To be informed is knowledge. I'm always interest in that. I'm ALWAYS interested in the thoughts, opinions and concerns of my fellow posters. I may not agree with a poster's take, but I want to hear what they have to say. On the other board, there are a couple of posters that are close to the UConn program, and know things the general population does not. Every once in a while they would give us a peek behind the scenes of something brewing, but nothing that compromised team/player privacy. We're getting close to opening day. Only 8 more days until the exhibition game. No more waiting or guessing. We'll have some real "fodder" to sink our teeth into and offer our thoughts and opinions on. I plan on posting something about our first opponent (Southern Conneticut State) of the season on Sunday to whet everyone's appitite. Stay tuned.
