Note the innovative pick-and-roll that isn't to the hoop ... Stewie rolls to the 3 point line instead. Very hard to defend that one. Goes against years of learning for the defense. NY could run that same thing for JJ, too. I've seen it occur with a scramble or out of a missed assignment, but this looks like it was designed this way.

Baring injuries, Stewie is on track to surpass the GOAT, DT in most categories. They are two amazing players.

Look at this absurdly fluid and graceful play: from rebound to 3 pt drain without breaking a sweat. Except for her former UConn teammate, the rest of the bench is so hum-hum 'cause they've seen it so many times. www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/38267550

If Stewie isn't MVP this season, they should just cancel the award, because any other vote is proof of bias. She's clearly the best player on the planet. Has been for a couple of years when Asa (who is fantastic) has also been great and the Aces team came out ahead. A case could be made in those years. I would have voted for BS then, but it wasn't a slam dunk. This season it isn't even close. Wilson, Lloyd have been stellar, and Stewart has eclipsed them all.

I would have voted for BS then, but it wasn't a slam dunk. This season it isn't even close. Wilson, Lloyd have been stellar, and Stewart has eclipsed them all. There has been some discussion recently about how you decide upon MVP? Some sportspeople - like Voepel - lean towards choosing the best player on the best team. I disagree on that as the deciding factor and believe it's too simplistic? For one thing, it's easier for your opponent to double and triple team the best player on a poorly preforming team than it is to do to the best player on the most talented team. Being surrounded by great shooters allows the double teamed player to pass to the open player who'll likely score. A very good player surrounded by less capable shooters has a tougher time scoring. Voepel will likely have a brain implosion soon because the NY Liberty have eclipsed Vegas. Even Voepel now admits the Liberty are the best of the 12 WNBA Teams for the past few weeks. I still think he'll vote for Wilson, but I believe enough other voters will use some common sense and choose Stewart? We'll see? BTW....Stewie has only 1 game left and she's already reached 910 points for the season. I was disappointed that Stewie didn't also win the US Open... If you consider how Stewie stretches the defense, passes to her teammates, runs down players to block their layups, shoots the 3 point shot and more; she's the one and only one capable of that in the WNBA. They don't usually consider this with BIGS, but her assist to turnover ratio is about 2.6 to Wilson's 1.0. Stewie does more to make her team better and this is a no-brainer for me.

While I agree that Stewie is likely the MVP, I have to throw a little light on A.T. here in CT. I don't know how many triple-doubles she's had this season but it's a lot and frankly, the SUN would be up the creek without her. Note too, Alyssa Thomas is a point/power forward. If being the most important player is the criteria (who knows what IS the criteria) she would win.
But... Stewie has had a season for the ages, or at least until Paige goes pro.
