I don’t agree with Virginia tech. If they are a one seed, I absolutely think an 8 or 4 or 5 would love to play them over any of the other 1 seeds.

VA Tech kind of confused me as well. Everyone hopes the Hokies or any other #1 seed goes down before their favorite team meets up with them.

There is a formula that works against Villanova. Saw it against UConn and saw it against Iowa State. I don’t think they are the scariest 4 seed in the world. Just being honest.

I would put South Carolina and UCLA in as teams you don’t want to face. Maybe Georgia too.

Even in their signature win over Indiana, they stunk it up for most of the first half. Indiana missed everything in the second... they're not that good. But the point about not wanting to play them is actually pretty reasonable. Kitley makes everything tough inside, and keeps them in striking distance when things go south.

Tennessee should have beaten Va Tech in that game. I watched it. Tennessee at that point in the season just wasn’t ready to win a game like that.
The ACC will struggle in the tournament imo.

Just being honest. true, but for that formula to work, a team needs someone who can defend Maddy. Most teams don't have that person. So they double, which brings foul trouble and leaves others open.... in other words, it is easier to say than to do.

Virginia Tech did not beat Indiana. The best win is a win over Duke and I'm not sure I would call a signature win when you were expected to win.

No, no insider info.
Yes, maybe. Or they think there is a chance she could be ready in a couple of weeks and are praying they can survive that long.

If she had a tear in a ligament, they would want to do surgery asap, or as soon as the swelling is down. To hold back on that until Sunday seems pretty unfair to the player.

I think there are (or should be) 2 kinds of questions here. 1. What are the actual teams no one wants to face: that's obviously the 5 best teams in the country (besides your own team, if that qualifies as one of them)? 2. What are the teams you don't want to face when you shouldn't mind facing a team: like, who do you, as a 1 or 2 seed, NOT want to play in the first or second round. That always seems to me the more interesting question.
My own answer is: I WANT to play the toughest team in the tournament right away. Punch them in the face, and move on.

VA Tech kind of confused me as well. Everyone hopes the Hokies or any other #1 seed goes down before their favorite team meets up with them. It is confusing until you remember that the ACC is under contract to ESPN. ESPN is touting VTech as a cinderella one seed after spending the regular season promoting everyone BUT VTech.

Teams I don't want UConn to face? Just one. Maybe the committee can make Louisville a 4/5 seed in SCar's quadrant.

It will be interesting to see is how the B1G teams are distributed. Indiana, Iowa, Maryland. I'm hoping UConn draws Maryland. It's that I like the other two and want them to go deep.
