When Utah and MD are contenders for a 1 seed then it's a weak year.
I expect a closish game tomorrow. Geno said he wasn't going to burn his starters out for a BE title.

I don't think you burn your starters out for the BE title, since there's such a long break between that and the first 2 rounds of the NCAA. I think you can burn your starters out at the beginning of the BE tournament, since it's 3 games in 3 days. So, if it's close, it's because he's pacing them for the next couple of days. That's probably what he (and you) meant, right?

Believe it or not. We lifted Maryland. They got a lot of confidence out of beating UConn. And they became a really good team after that game.
Before that game, they were losing to teams like Nebraska and Depaul.

That's probably what he (and you) meant, right? When I heard this there were maybe 4 or 5 games left in the season. And he said that if he prepares his team to win both the reg and BET then they would enter the NCAA's in a weak state. He said he wouldn't do that and I think the last 4 games or so were evidence of a lack of preparation. So if I am right then UConn may win the BET but not at the expense of the NCAA's. I won't be shocked if they lose the semi-final. The nicest thing about my theory is that I can ignore all the poor play because they will be ready for the NCAA's.

Good coaches and teams that use movement and passing to run offense. Indiana is a great team and they are my 2nd choice for winning the title, but when was the last FF with a B1G team?

Before that game, they were losing to teams like Nebraska and Depaul. MD had a great deal of off season turmoil and they had many new faces from the portal. Also Diamond Miller was recovering from her surgery during the first months of this season. They're all much more acclimated and players are fitting in better now. They might surprise some people during the BIG10 and NCAA Tournaments, but only if Diamond Miller and Sellers stay out of foul trouble? Both can be quite undisciplined at times on both sides of the ball, and both sometimes pick up dumb early fouls? When Miller and Sellers stay focused and the team's 3 point shooters are playing well, they're quite good.

Final Four appearances of BIG10 teams: Maryland 2015, 2014 & 2006. Rutgers 2007 and Michigan State 2005. Last BIG10 team to win it all was Purdue in 1999 with Coach Carolyn (God, I hate her announcing games?) Peck: www.ncaa.com/history/basketball-women/d1

I still consider Maryland an ACC team adrift and competing in a strange conference they don’t really belong in. 👍

I was thinking about nominating that Duke North Carolina game for an UGGY, but I was too exhausted after watching the Stanford game to posting.
I'm sure there have been other years where two teams in a conference were serious contenders for a one seed (UConn Notre Dame), but has it ever happened that both teams failed to make the semifinals?
Conference supporters will tout this as evidence of the strength of the overall conference, and there's something to that but maybe it means something else.

I noticed the updated SOS. UConn down a bit, haven't teased out why.

Rutgers wasn't in the B1G in 2007, they joined in 2014. Does the B1G deserve credit? Ditto Maryland's appearance in 2006.

Georgetown shot 0-10 on three-pointers yesterday. That means they will hit a high percentage today. Naturally.

Hold a little back for the final, and give it all you've got for the title. I can't see Geno or the players agreeing to less. Maybe don't reveal new plays or a big defensive adjustment unless you absolutely have to....

David in Naples, thoughts and prayers with you cause if that reverse mojo doesn't work your only move might be Witness Protection. Bleed Blue, All Paws In.

If you guys haven't watched Allie's game with Neenah on Thursday it's well worth watching. Neenah wasn't just down by nine, they trailed for most of the game. Allie's outside shots weren't falling, but late in the second half with Neenah's season hanging in the balance she just took over on drives to the basket. She's way more than just a three point shooter.

UConn down a bit, haven't teased out why. Maryland has had a tougher recent schedule than has UConn. The BIG10 being stronger than our Big East.

I understand why MD has a good SOS, I'm missing how we dropped from 1 to 4 that quickly

Well, Iowa just killed MD's shot at a 1 seed. They needed to win the B1G.
I'd love to be a 3 if MD's the 2.
