On TOB a poster started with "I'm not at liberty to say but... To me it's just feeding their ego by intimating that they know something that the rest of the fans don't. I find it annoying. On a more serious note is why KLS is not in the team U19 picture ? I inferred, from the same post, that it's a health issue of a personal/family/friend nature. I hope it's not serious.
I wasn't sure where to post this. If the mods think it should go somewhere else, feel free to move it.

If you look closely at the picture, there is another player all the way to the left sitting in the first row. You can only see part of her hair, shoulder and leg. I believe that is Samuelson.

When someone with whom I am not that familiar says "I know, but I can't tell you how I know, trust me." I think, NAH! Now if it was someone that I thought probably really KNEW (like say Phil, for instance) I'd take it more seriously.
As a general rule, tho, I think it's just someone puffing themselves up.

DD. That was photo shopped in by Biff. Look at the photo at the team photo at the top of the page. They would be out of size sequence if it were KLS on the end. There is word that KLS left the team and might not be back in time to play because of a family issue. (probably a family health issue)

Some formats you have to be logged in for and you know I can't do that.

Having said that, ochoopsfan is friends with the Samuelson family so he probably does know what's going on. Clearly KLS was not with the team on photo day and is reported to be at home for some kind of family issue. I assumed the issue was not an injury she suffered at training camp as that information would surely have leaked out. I hope for the best for KLS and her family. Geno did travel out to Colorado Springs on Sunday but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with KLS's situation or whether he had other reasons to be out there.

(That's why Phil is Phil and someone I would trust...)

Sometimes I think that we should have a section called TOB, as commentary about that place is highly entertaining at times. Then again, we have compartmentalized this place enough, so Off Topic is the place for the off-board.

I don't know... at one point, I would have thought it just as kind of an annoying tease but now that I've been in the situation, it's not so black and white. I've been given information and not necessarily in confidence but I feel strangely protective of my source so I bounce back and forth between wanting to blab and not wanting to say anything at all. So it's kind of a vague response with a "just trust me." Definitely guilty of it here. Fortunately, I guess, I'm too busy to post a whole lot.

My opinion is if your aren't willing or able to reveal the source on a public message board, don't share the information. We aren't members of the press here, needing to protect our sources while at the same time doing the job of informing the public. The press, theoretically, has a moral code to report truth and fact. Posters on a message board? Motives are not always clear.

Interestingly, the thread that I referenced in the OP has been deleted on TOB. The plot thickens.

USA BB's press release announcing the addition of Slocum to the USA's roster said it was a "family illness" that caused Katie Lou to return home.
Katie Lou and her sisters have resurfaced a bit over the past few days. Katie Lou addressed campers at her old high school. Karlie and Bonnie attended a concert in SF. This is all we know at this point.

Posters on a message board? Motives are not always clear. I almost want to disagree about clarity of motives. I think there is a great deal of the self promoting that invades the so often remark....."I know this because I know important people" and that in and of itself is supposed to give immediate credibility to what they are about to post and by extension make them at least as important as the unidentified source. There was a guy on the game boards at ESPN a couple of years back now who insisted that he knew from all of his insider friends at the WCBA that all the top 10-25 teams were going to exclude UConn from their OOC schedules thereby getting the top recruits to begin to abandon the Huskies. So now two or three years removed we play how many top teams? BTW this was the same psychotic individual who actually expressed in a post a desire to see a UConn team vehicle crash and take out the players and staff. Talk about sick!
