Pittsburgh trounced UNC, too. ND down; Dook almost down. What's going on out there?

There is more and more parity out there every year.

There is more and more parity out there every year. Everywhere but Storrs.

I watched parts of all three games. Syracuse had a final possession to try for a three and the win, and didn't get t done, or there would have been 3 upsets.
But the story in the other two isn't just the upset, but the margin. These aren't last-second, lucky shot wins, they were very large margins.
Is it possible the Reimer news just came out, and that affected the team? If so, that might help explain ND but not UNC.

I would guess that Reimer not traveling with the team and her status did affect ND. Reimer's teammates clearly know more about what's going on than the rest of us. From all accounts Reimer is very well-liked and ND is a young team. When I heard about the news last night, particularly the story that Reimer didn't make the trip for "personal reasons," I couldn't help but think back to January 2011 when Samarie Walker didn't make the trip to North Carolina for a Big Monday game against the Tarheels. Samarie's absence didn't affect the mindset of the UConn women that night but we learned eventually that Samarie's short time in Storrs was never quite stable. Reimer always seemed so solid at ND. ND fans are hoping the report of a decision to transfer isn't true though returning to the team in these circumstances would be tough. BTW, Jim Fuller's blog this morning mentioned that Reimer was once a soft verbal to UConn, though Jim characterized it " as soft of a commitment as you will find." I've heard elsewhere that Geno wouldn't accept her early commitment but kept recruiting her though he had reservations about her willingness to play hard in the lane.

Yes, Pittsburgh. I remember when they were pretty good for awhile with Agnes, and then they fell apart. Wish they were in our league. Wish somebody was. But as Doggy and others have said, we will inspire them to get better and pretty soon we'll be for real. Well, maybe. Anyway, it was an amazing night. There was another upset too, but I can't find it on ESPN right now. I do like "motion."
