I had a feeling my post on current consecutive win streaks wouldn't age well, with UMass scheduled to play Iowa State that evening but I had just how much the list would change.
Yes, 13th ranked Iowa State defeated UMass to end the nation's longest Division I winning streak, but the Minutewoman made it closer than I might have guessed. They were 12 point underdogs, but ended up losing by only five points. Maybe our neighbor to the north is a team will have to pay attention to. Not only that, but Iowa State came into the game on the six-game winning streak, so now joins the group of 12 teams with seven consecutive wins.
Cleveland State takes over as holder of the current consecutive win streak. They were one of 10 teams with seven consecutive wins but played last evening and beat Long Island to extend their current season went straight to six and their overall win streak to eight.
Rhode Island lost to drop off the list, while Colorado, Missouri, and Stony Brook each won to join Iowa State on the list of 12 teams in second place with seven consecutive wins
