Brenda Frese has found her team's kryptonite, and it's Top 25 Teams!! Who could have guessed that? Coach Frese decided she'd go easy on the cupcakes with her baby turtles this season and she tried a novel approach!! The first 2 weeks of the season would be a royal blast at the finest dessert bars on the east coast with games against # 251 Longwood (STRUDEL!!), then # 102 Villanova ( Bran Muffins with chocolate icing and M&M's on top!!), followed by # 140 James Madison (tasty Colombian Bunuelos!!), on to # 289 Mount Saint Mary's ( Cheese Blintzes!!!!!!) and finally on to # 326 UNC Wilmington (Tres Leches).......what a feast!!!!! BTW......the average rating of the first 5 victims is 222 out of 356 teams!! Great job coach!!!
Then, OMG; who could have foreseen the Top 25 dangers ahead??? The Baylor Bears caused only minor damage and the turtles continued their safari into the uncharted world of Top 10 Teams!! They were punished by a Wolfpack and then became the main ingredients in Stanford Coach Tara Van Derveer's cauldron of Turtle Soup!! Today, a very charitable Massey has Maryland at # 14, but BIG10 play begins soon and I'm hoping for a downward departure!!! South Carolina is just 2 weeks away!!!
Less than a week ago, Maryland was the NCAA Team of the week!! I kid you not??? From the following article:
'Featuring a deep and balanced roster that has six players averaging 11.7 points or more per game, Maryland has jumped out to a dominating 6-0 start to the season, with its latest win, a 79-76 statement home win over No. 6 Baylor on Sunday afternoon, showing that the Terrapins are a national title contender in 2021-22.
Having won the six games by an average of 28.8 points per game, Maryland this week also rolled to convincing wins over Mount St. Mary’s (98-57) and UNC Wilmington (108-66).'
5 of their 6 wins were against cupcakes, so a 28.8 point victory margin means nothing???

Here's chronically clueless Mechelle Voepel gushing over the amazing cupcake destroying turdle army??? ESPN has both good and atrocious sports mavens!! Voepel is at the extremely senseless end of the ESPN spectrum?
