Gone from a projected Final Four hero and the Year of the Turtle; to a miserable cauldron of Turtle soup?? I don't see how they're still a top 10 team, but we'll see?
BTW.......after her turtles hid in their shells for the first half and got hammered, their coach said:

You've got to be kidding me.
I understand a coach may feel the need to find something positive to say when you been blown off the court, but it has to be at least plausibly believable. On the surface, saying you liked the fourth quarter when you outscored Stanford 19-11 sounds plausible, but it really isn't.
I confess I didn't actually see the game, but I can read a box score. Stanford was up 27 points at the end of the third quarter. Stanford played 14 players, and it will support a couple that in for a minute each — it looks like it was primarily the bench in the fourth quarter. Maryland only played seven players, with two starters playing all 40 minutes. Effectively she's saying that the deep bench of Stanford can't quite keep up with Marilyn starters when the game is out of hand. That's not saying much.
Are all the other Maryland bench players injured? What's the argument for not giving them a couple minutes if only to say that they had a chance at playing against Stanford? It's not like the final result was on the line.
I just read that Maryland only dressed seven, so I take back my question about why others didn't play, but that doesn't change my observation that Maryland outscored Stanford in fourth quarter at playing starters against the deep bench.
