Uconn Starters : Buckets , ONO, Edwards, Williams , E
Lets start at @ 6:00 mark. SC leads 6-3. Dorka replaces Edwards. Uconn goes on run. Combination of Dorka and ONO clearly bothering SC. Uconn up 20-14. SC increases on ball pressure out to 25 ft. Dawn's game plan is to use her depth to physically pressure Uconn out to 25 Ft. This wears down Huskies as game continues. End 1st Quarter Uconn leads 20- 14

We won that quarter by getting SC to turnover the ball a lot, but we made plenty of mistakes as well! Started out with Paige not getting out quick enough to guard a 3 point shot, and then Liv making the same mistake? Paige at least tried to get out there, but Liv just stayed back and both resulted in made 3's!! Then a minute later, Aaliyah with a bad pass turnover, followed shortly by badly missed 3 point shot?? A bit later Christyn walked and, shortly thereafter, she walked again?? So, we were really fortunate to have a lead after the quarter ended! It's true that UConn players made a number of very good plays this quarter, but still too many turnovers and too many rebounds given up to SC? I couldn't count all of the times Liv had her hand on a rebound, but lost it out of bounds or to another SC player? Boston had 15 rebounds and Liv had 5?? I understand that Liv is often at the top of the key, but when she knows a shots about to go up, she should make a greater effort? Boston out-rebounded all of our bigs combined! For all of the many good defensive plays Liv made, she was not aggressive enough on the boards and offensively!

During the game, I suggested that Aaliyah was fatigued from playing Olympic ball.
Now, I think instead that Geno has come to realize that Aaliyah is better coming off the bench than starting...at least for now.
