Assistant Chloe Pavelich! Fairly comprehensive, but doesn't tell the story of how she landed the Graduate Assistant (GA) position @ UConn! She was trying to make the Seattle Storm roster during the WNBA preseason and Sue Bird took notice of her many great traits! Sue knew UConn was gonna need a new GA; so she mentioned it to Chloe and then told Geno she'd be a great fit! I should also add that Chloe was a good basketball player, but not likely to make the 12 player Storm roster! Another ironic thing was that Chloe was our 'enemy' when she played for Maryland...LOL!!! From the article, Kia Nurse was surprised to see her at breakfast her first day there, having known Chloe as the 'enemy': "I'll never forget my first day there, I sat down for breakfast check, and Kia Nurse walks in and says, 'What are you doing here?''' Pavlech said. "She was so confused, and I was kind of taken aback, too. I felt like a traitor. "But, it was so awesome there, working with CD (Chris Dailey), Marissa Moseley, Shea Ralph and Coach, too. They were so great to me when I was there and just showed me what it meant to really work at a high level in a high-stress environment." After going to two Final Fours with UConn in 2017 and '18, Pavlech had a couple coaching job offers, "but I knew there were still other things I wanted to do." baylorbears.com/news/2021/11/21/womens-basketball-a-higher-purpose.aspx
