These rankings evaluate what they believe is the total talent of each group. But they don't evaluate the precise fit-to-need. UConn got exactly what it wanted and needed (though I wouldn't have turned down Betts!).

They also factor in sheer numbers. Often 3 or 4 mediocre players trump 2 elite players. The time to rank classes is when they are about to graduate.

Exactly Some time back Arizona State recruited 4 players all highly regarded, what a great class. THEY WERE ALL POINT GUARDS UNDER 5'10. If I didn't know it before I knew it then, common sense need not apply. I'll take the two we got any day.
