Let's not forget what's on the line, which I'm going to trip over because I don't remember the numbers. We have an absolutely unbelievable streak of not losing two in a row. With last year's loss to Arizona, we need to win to keep the streak alive. I really do understand that Arkansas isn't the same team as last year with the loss of Slocum and Dungee, But they get some votes in the top 25 and are ranked by Massey at number 28 sounds about right.
The opening games in the previous three seasons were:
MA Lowell 245 Cal 71 Ohio State 66
Ohio State was the best of those three but really give us a scare. You have to go back to 2018, when we played Stanford, ranked number 14 by Massey at the time, to find a higher quality opening game.
The real scare was the year before we took on Florida State, ranked number eight by Massey and one by two points in a nailbiter

THANK YOU, great stuff. Woke up (always a good thing) nervous, not going away. Bad omen, my town's high school girls soccer team had their unbeaten season ruined in the Final Four semis yesterday, after tying 1-1 in regulation and thru 2 overtimes they lost on penalty kicks. Man. Ok, first game of the season, no reason to get worked up, shouldn't be that close. Time to take Bella for a walk, that will kill an hour. Oh, two other big games on today after ours, Stanford-Texas followed by Kentucky-Indiana, great day for WBB. Go blue.

More on the line than just “remaining undefeated” on the season.
