UConn is suddenly again building back bigger and better:
“During the recruiting period for this class, we set out to find a couple bigs who could play multiple positions,” Auriemma said in a release. “I think we found the two best in the country in Ayanna and Ice. As a tandem, I think they’re going to give us exactly what we were looking for.”
“What’s most impressive about Ayanna is her incredible athletic ability and the places she can get to on the court,” he said. “Offensively and defensively, I think she’s going to have a huge impact right away because those were two things we needed to address.”
“With Ice, you have the classic power player who can step out and make a perimeter shot,” Auriemma said. “She can handle the ball at the high post and is a very good passer.”
Just to say again that Geno is looking for his high post to take outside shots. That's an essential part of 5-out motion.
If the defender has to honor the post on the perimeter, it opens up the lanes for the guards, who cut off the post and get the return pass. Liv racked up an amazing number of assists last year that way.

Ice Brady is very similar with Aja Wilson. An inch shorter with a better 3point shot.
Patterson is a freak athletically.

What he may well mean is that for UConn these players are more attractive than Loren Betts or some other jumbo who is less mobile.

Speaking of less mobile, I finally watched the replay of Ft Hays on the bigger screen. For those big, brawny post players, Dorka is way quicker than you are. WAY.
