I have no sense of what her choice might be. She may be enticed by the you'll start and establish a new dynasty line.

Aunt Susan went to Stanford where she, incredibly, won both a Truman and a Rhodes and played basketball for Stanford and later at Oxford. Kiki's father, Susan's brother, played basketball at Yale and picked up an MBA from Harvard. Susan's kid is a troubled student at Stanford. Not because he's head of the Young Republicans, but because he is a far right, highly disruptive and combative guy who perplexes Susan. I'm thinking that if Kiki goes there, she will be the darling of the Rice family. As swash pointed out, at UConn she'd have to wait in line for her minutes. Miracles happen, but somehow I don't think so here. The only surprise might have been Duke (Kara went to Sidwell Friends for a year), but with the announcement coming before the beginning of the season, Kara is an untested coach. Kiki, like her father John and her aunt Susan, wants to compete on the court and in the classroom...and beyond. Stanford in a walk.

Maybe she'll come here or to Duke to avoid her cousin? How I wish she would come here, but I fear...and I think she might go to Duke, really.

I'm not investing any energy in KiKi coming to UConn. We can't get them all. In about 30 seconds another unbelievable athlete will rise out of the throng.

I don't get excited about recruits until 1) they announce, and then only slightly pleased and 2) sign their LOI and then I get really excited.

Weighing heavily on Stanford, cuz it just seems inevitable for her. I also think it will be between UConn and Stanford.

I don't have an opinion about where she'll verbal. Counterexamples to choosing very high academic schools include Kara Lawson and Rebecca Lobo.

Everyone thought KLS was going to Stanford because of family connections too, some kids walk to the beat of a different drummer, hopefully Kiki is one of them. Need a guard to balance out the two Aircraft Carriers.

She would be perfect for us, and she is so smart. She has been my fave for a long time. Maybe Paige got to her? She would learn more playing with Paige and Azzi than she would anywhere else, with Geno as the master teacher. You couldn't beat it, if you want a career in bball. That's the real question. If she wants to play a few years and then go to med school, she should go to Stanford.

I think she can go to med school just as easily from UConn, so long as she aces organic and the MCAT. I guess I was thinking more like her father and aunt and therefore post-graduate honors and more of a public career, for which Stanford cache and networking would be an advantage.

What Chappie said, but with the caveat that I actually have to see them on campus, in a uniform, at practice. (Sorry, still singed from EDD's decision....and yes, I know she had a legit reason, so don't start, okay?)

Perhaps she'll follow in Dr. Leigh Ann Curl's footsteps!! She played 4 years of basketball for UConn and managed to gain acceptance to a great medical school! Here's her story: cfmedicine.nlm.nih.gov/physicians/biography_343.html

Here's her story: cfmedicine.nlm.nih.gov/physicians/biography_343.htmlGreat article, Ken! I especially like this part: Curl says her decision to go into medicine was not part of a firm plan. Because of her academic record, however, and interest in science people encouraged her to become a doctor. At the insistence of one of her college professors, Curl applied to and was accepted at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

I just threw the med school thing out there as an example. No evidence what so ever of any interest in this on Kiki's part.
