Apparently sportsmanship has gone the way of so many other forms of civility. IMO the entire coaching staff should be fired.

I wish I could find it on the internet - I still have a copy - but, there was a Tank McNamara cartoon about 20 years ago about the Opus Dei girl's basketball team running up the score on an opponent. The last panel says "as penance, Opus Dei plays UConn", and the picture shows a UConn player (somewhat resembling Maya Moore) just flattening an Opus Dei player.

That's disgraceful. Here's the thing - I have no problem if they beat them by 106 or anything else - provided they accepted the running clock (they refused), didn't continue to throw pass plays (obviously, they did) and didn't attempt 2 point conversions (their last score). Presumably left their starters in as well. I don't expect teams to stop playing. If a team is way, way ahead and are near scoring I do not expect them to take a knee. I do expect them to run the ball and turn the ball over on downs if stopped.

There was a follow-up story on-line today that has the Principal apologizing, and comments from various involved folks. Looked like everyone else from the "winning" side wasn't commenting.
