The quick turn around virtually handed Chicago game one. Bad schedue. Dictated by arena availability or ? The travel: yes the WNBA is the poor second cousin.

Anyone else see Taurasi shove a ref during the game? How does she get away with that?

Anyone else see Taurasi shove a ref during the game? How does she get away with that? I didn’t see the game, but was the ref too far on the court and in the way of the play? It is the only reason I can think of that shoving a ref would be allowed. During active play don’t the refs patrol the end line and sideline just off the court? It isn’t like football where many refs have to be on the field to see what is going on. A lot easier for three refs to watch 10 players on a relatively small playing field than watching 22 on a much larger playing field. I don’t know. I may just be talking out of my arse. |

There was a bit of wrestling between Cunningham and Chicago's Copper. Copper got a little chippy and the refs jumped in to separate them. One ref was standing over Cunningham who was on the floor. Taurasi came running up and forcefully shoved the ref away from Cunningham. It wasn't an oops - it was 100% deliberate.
An update - Taurasi was fined $2500 which I think sends the wrong message. She should have been T'd up or ejected.

They should have T'd up both Diana and Copper who literally jumped on Cunningham to start the entire near fracas! Cunningham is a tough kid and she wasn't shy about yelling something to Copper, which set Copper off!
